Anyone so kind, and with healthy curiosity, to compare facts about SE K700 vs. Siemens S65, including release date and memory card?

I think SE k700 is just great, but often those companies who must regain marketshare bet on better products to achieve that. This is the very case with Siemens, trying to regain maybe even harder than SE.

At the end the consumer makes the choice. For me I would like to know if I can push back the purchase of a proper digicamera, giving up to real resolution, and go for 1 Mpix in a new cameraphone, which is enough for most of the uses.

Does Siemens use tha same platform for the S65 as Se does? It almost seems like it with those specifications, except for the camera.

Shame the battery didnt get an upgrade too. 670mAh on the K700 powering the screen, camera, light, 3d gaming engine, mp3s etc vs the 700mAh battery on the T68i ...

No, Siemens will probably never use the same platform as SE are going to do with their new handsets.

Sony Ericsson only get more plus points for every time I make a comparison between other brands equal.

Remember its only a prototype, so they may use different battery capacity than the one actually launched !! I would think SE at least uses the same 770mAH battery as T610/T630 !!

If the K700 consumes less power than T68i or T610, then you will still have same talk/standby time as the older phones. Bluetooth, 65 K screens, VGA cameras etc. has been on the market over a year now. I believe those components consumes less power today than they did a year or two ago. Since the K700 talk/standby time specification is almost the same as for T68i/T610 it is likely you can get same (or better)talk/stanby time with K700 as with your old T68i although K700 has a battery with less capacity.

Naah, the white paper also states 670 mAh (charging time ~1h).

whats the point if the camera aint 1.3mp? I'd rather get that new siemens s65, and it does look nice in my opinion.

I believe the price of K700 will be much cheaper than S65, cos K700 is mainly aiming at young generation and sure the price will be very competitive for the features it offered! About the battery capacility, is it the same type of battery used in T610/T630?? Maybe we can put our T610/T630 battery on the K700 !!

That phone is targeted as a business phone = more expencive. Although K700 looks better, I think S65 will have an impressive feature list (1.3mp camera, 256 K screen, 23 MB memory etc).

the company tht profit the most from K700 and S65 (siemens) will be ......ta ta Ericsson since both phone might be using their platform.

I can't help to put this assumption in since both phone suppose the same thing and even the keypad layout look the same.

Plus the design of S65 remind me of....T610/T630.....seem like Siemens really losing in their industrial design (as usual).

The only features which is better than K700 is the camera resolution.
Its just like when we compare S55 with T68i with one supporting java/polyphonic while one didn't.

I dont think K700 lacks memory - because I dont think its meant to be an mp3 player as such - the mp3 playing ability is meant for ringtones - and 30sek mp3 at 96kbs encoding dont take up much space. I think the 32mb memory is meant as support for videorecording, games, ringers, themes, pictures, etc. and looking at the phone as an upgrade of the T610/T630 series at a reasonable midrangeprice - I beleive the overall specs are simply outstanding - no other phone at this price from any company delivers equal specs overall. If you need an mp3 player better get a dedicated cheap flashrambased mp3 player. Or toss in that extra money and get the S700 that supports duo sticks

As TheRealSpawn said it is for sure not ment to work as MP3-player
There will be a T650 with rumoured MSD Pro for that.
