I don't think it will be on the EMMA servers before week 20

But some of us do have the new software...

NICE! I can't say this enough... look forward to it, you will really get a completely new phone.

Cheers.

My friend and I compared displays once (before I had the upgrade), and it was the same.
Then after the upgrade, we noticed that my screen was much brighter than his.
We set the same backrgound pictures, and then checked contrast settings. His contrast was higher than mine, so we set it to same contrast. And the white in the picture, turned sort of yellowish on his phone, and on my phone it was crisp white

So, my conclusion is that the display gets brighter after the upgrade.

I must say my screen is also very crisp after the upgrade. It's really neat taking photoes with my T68(i) and the MCA-20. So easy to send, however a bit slow. But this will be a hit, I'm sure of it. Interesting to see if the new Nokia can Keep up.

Just another great advantage (and reason) to get the upgrade.

Maybe I will look into the bt headset, but I am really ok with my reg. headset for driving. Works better now too. Still some 'chirping' noices in the backgroud when talking, but I must say it doesn't really bother me and it is 'very' faint.

Do have a chatboard... but still upset with the 1st letter - not capitalized issue. I'll soon add stuff to the bugsreport topic... but most of things are already mentioned. Thanks Epedemic... and I agree, we need to give a helping hand to get better products in the future. Hopefully we can all have the 'perfect' phone someday, or at least as close to perfect as possible.

The P800 just looks so nice. But I'll hang on to my 'slow' but very handy palm (m100) just a bit more

hey guys,

been following this topic for awhile, listening to the lucky few with the T68(i)'s. Gotta question that no one seems to be able to answer. I live in the US, which doesnt have much support for the T68. Why we get the best phones LAST, I have no clue. But, anyhow...where can I get the R2B025 upgrade when its officially out. I'm stuck with R1B w/ out T9. I've never seen a "Sonyericsson Service Point" before. Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Hey Rob...

All I can say.. yeah, it really sucks!

I used to live in the US, but I guess europe has always been a good test market for products... and 'after all' both Nokia and Ericsson have their bases here in Scandinavia.

Just a thought

PS. Remember that 'we' had the fax machine 4-5 yrs. before you in the states... but faxing really never became a hit, before the US started to use this technology. I guess some things are out here before, like you have many other cool things out before there too... like all the SONY laptop products. I really like the new clié PEG-NR70. I have always had a palm... but SONY just takes palm to a new level. SOOOO NICE!!!

Rob...

Try,

http://www.ericsson.com/about/worldwide/usa.shtml
or
http://www.sel.sony.com/SEL/wtc/customer/locations/index.html
(there are quite a few authorized service centers in TX)

or where you purchased your phone. Maybe they can do (or have done) the SW update for you when it is released. I'm sure you can have the upgrade equally quick, like others waiting for the release (on the EMMA servers).

Hope this helps a bit

Rob I'm in the US myself there are two places you can have a firmware upgraded here. The first is the SE service center in Minnesota but they probably won't have the upgrade for weeks after it's released. The second is a guy in Pittsburgh he is authorized by SE to do the flashes I had mine done buy him from the old one to the newest anyway you send him the phone and he does his thing and you get the phone back in three days I've heard that SE can take up to three weeks to get you your phone back. If your interested post here and I'll send you his email.
