You can't really tell much about the contrast from those pictures. Z5P's display is definitely brighter and much less cooler that G4's panel which is good.
Those samples are a little bit too green and more importantly - Note 5's images are much, much sharper. Z5:

N5: more sharpening, yet less noise, Z5 the other way round. How?

eprice shots are suspected to me , always note 5 has closer scene, obviously it will has more detail , but we already noticed z5 goes to higher iso and short exposure due to lackness of ois and higher aperture , it cant be helped
note 5 or g4's pixels will capture a lot more light(1.5x-2x i guess) then z5 sensor in these situations.
No they're not, Z5 has wider lens. Note 5 and G4 have slightly brighter optica but Z5 has bigger sensor so they capture similar amount of light.

The pictures taken by GSM Arena, were taken with a newer firmware.
It's unbelievable that Sony don't keep their phones more up to date when promoting.
I can only assume that the event in China or wherever they were, took place after IFA.
Chinese crap shots were taken with firmware:
32.0.A.1.123_0_b600
The firmware version GSM Arena used was:
32.0.A.2.81_0_f400
My conclusion is, there must have been some really good tweaking between these two firmwares.
I still have hope in the Xperia Z5 line.

They were taken using devices at Sonys Taiwan & Tokoyo Office, they invited a bunch of media to test out the Z5 do benchmarkd etc.
I would assume they're using the latest sw.

it doesnt matter since z5 sensor has more pixels,
assume pixel sizes are same , brighter lens+long shutter time+lower iso means capture more light with less noise....
(1,5X-2X could be a little exaggeration though)
last samples better then eprice one , looks like gsmarena has newer firmware from the numbers... |

We should be happy that high-end phones in general do take pictures good enough for Facebook posting.
Remember that pro photographer comparing the LG G4 with a 3500 USD DSLR.
Well, now we know it was all supported by LG. That phone is not even close to my mid-range DSLR in terms of details.
My point is, we shouldn't really have too high hopes when it comes to mobile photography.
Even the best phone today is nowhere near a DSLR.

I'm really worried about finding a root exploit for Z5 Premium without unlocking the bootloader...
The guys at xda developers hardly managed to root Z3+/Z4 after unlocking the BL, and some guys says it might be impossible to achieve root without unlocking the BL duo to changes Sony made in the boot process ( verifications in Kernel like of stuff )... having almost the same platform for both Z3+/Z4 with Z5 making me feels it will get the same treatment...
The good thing about xda developers is that they have a weird different definition of "imposible", so there might be hope in the horizon, but it will need more time
Damn Sony with your silly DRM stuff removed when unlocking the boot loader... the thing is if you buy a Sony phone and unlock the bootloader, you will no longer have a Sony phone, the most amazing features will just go away for good... unless you find a root exploit and backed-up the TA partition first...
But honestly, in my first 1-2 years of any device ownership, I'm only interested in root...
Nanroid backups are good also, but for me root is a must...

Seen varying scores on benchmarks, seen several around 57,000 mark and one even as low as 49000 (Tryna refind the link to the article) then this impressive 63000 score taken from the Z5 premium.

Edit:
Just noticed that its the Z5 that scored that, interesting in comparison to the 57000 reported by another site taken from the Z5. Maybe this Z5 was put through its paces prior to the benchmark.

The camera results are less than stellar so far. 3 weeks until it is supposed to hit stores, compact even earlier.
Sure sony can improve the noise and what not but going by the announcement that the new camera app is due in November, doesn't feel like they will rush to improve quality and just claim once the new app arrives, things will be better.
Not expecting a miracle from Sony mobile in terms of imaging.

I used to be the same, but nowadays I have less use for root. Sure, it's nice, but not necessary anymore. I used to feel I NEED root for game progress backups, SDcard access (stupid kitkat), going further back it was screenshots, but now?
My launcher gives me plenty of customizability out of the box, the software isn't as badly bloated as it used to be, ftfs are easy to make and flash for any stock firmware any region. The only real benefit I get from root at the minute is that I can use a root VPN app so I don't have to set a screenlock pattern (which you do if you use the android VPN system), thus saving me an extra 800 miliseconds each time I open my phone. Minor thing which only is relevant when waking from deep sleep (as my MiBand does proximity unlocking) and will disappear completely with fingerprint unlocking.
I'm not saying my situation covers every eventuality but I myself don't need root.
What do you use root for?
