Superior auto is not that great, if the phone had a dedicated chip for the processing like their point and shots, assuming sony's P&S's use a dedicated processor, then perhaps superior auto would look better than manual but until that happens, I prefer manual mode.

Early 2015 could mean anything, but hopefully they will announce something at the show. I am expecting/hoping my Z3 tablet Compact will get the update quickly, because I doubt my Z1 will have it before the Z4 release. |

^^
The first thing that sony need to take care of with z4 is think of how to make a stronger construction like ditching glass for some kind of metal or whatever that will reduce or prevent cracking and bending. some consumers complain about "cracked glass for no reason". let's say it is because of overheating, too much pressure in pocket, the thinness, whatever. bottom line, they better improve in that regard. imo this is much more important then any other thing that we here tend to talk about. we spend a lot money on a flagship with all its bells and whistles and then the device may get broken and worth less then a banana and repair cost up to half of the device price, at least in my country. SONY, do you read?

^ Personally I wouldn't mind the soft touch material they've used on the Xperia tablet range, keep the metal frame and you'll still have a well built, premium device with much more grip as I find the Z3 very slippy without a case.
I'm so happy 'cause today I've found my friends ... They're in my head

@ascariss
The thing is: To set up Manual to have a great shot, you need some time. It isn't 15 minutes, but it's still a lot of time. Sometimes, a quick shot is needed, and SuperiorAuto SHOULD be able to take amazing pictures even without having to fine tune it.
And, YOU might not need it (take pictures of quick things), but ther are millions of other consumers out there.
I don't get people. Never Have, never will. |

I'd like that, i don't like cases but I use a case to prevent it slipping.

That is one solution. i'd personally love a metal back and sides for a change, plus, it will reduce or prevent cracking... i would say front and back sapphire glass but it is still unrealistic wish and its benefits are questionable. |

Another year, another thread
I'm not holding out much hope for big Sony mobile announcements at CES... I'm sure MWC is the more likely place for that stuff to be shown. I am curious what the latest rumours say about a Z Ultra successor though. I've been yearning for one for the longest time and am hoping to see one.
Also, I'm guessing CES will give us confirmation on that old rumour that Sony has done away with most of their Cybershot models (leaving only RX and QX series) and moved a lot of those resources over to mobile. If we don't see a new lineup of S, T and W series Cybershots, I think that'll be confirmation enough.
Can't wait! Going to get home just in time to watch the presentation on Monday. |

Ha ha, I too like weird Sony. Don't they have quite large presence a CES? I think will be showing a bit more than a new Walkman if that's the case.

I am sure they will, probably expanding more on their NFC and bluetooth offerings as well. The walkman is just one thing confirmed for 100% so far. |

Sony have just tweeted this image of a very thin object through some curtains using the #SonyCES
Now I don't want to jump to conclusions but surely that image is reference to this still taken from the teaser trailer from Sony's New World Promo.
In that video the said item is picked up by just a few fingers, again I don't want to jump to conclusions but that must be a new tablet right ? If not what else could it be.
Here is the video again in full.
Welcome to the New World

It might be a tablet, the rumoured 12 inch one. It could also be a really thin TV be it real or concept, OLED possibly, but that wouldn't explain the grabbing, who the hell grabs a tv. |
