My sensible 2014 announcements prediction for the high end devices:
January CES: Z1 Ultra, Tablet Z1
February MWC: Z2
somewhere between: Z2 mini
July: Z2 Ultra
September IFA: Z3
somewhere after: Z3 mini
I would like:
January CES: Tablet Z1
MWC Z1 Ultra
IFA Z2 and Z2 mini.
One flagship on year.
Z2 and Z2 mini with AQ8084, 2.5ghz 20nm, Adreno 420 and 3gb RAM

I think that sony don't seem to agree with you. i have no doubt of Z2 at MWC. i would be surprised of they won't show it then or by then. i think that they are at least as of now not comfortable with releasing a 5" flagship every year, like samsung. maybe because they are not focusing more in the US market so they have to make a BUZZ sooner then every annual year, like every half a year so by that they are on the news more. do i make sense? Z1 Ultra, not a lot will buy it if they keep going for the same dimensions... so i say Z1 Ultra at CES only if they go for smaller dimensions.

But does Sony has time to give AQ8084 to Z2, if her show at the MWC.

APQ8084 doesn't have a modem, so it will require another chip to be used in phones...
APQ8074 in the other hand will have modem... but because APQ8084 does have a modem Qualcomm added other things like the more powerfull and newer Adreno 420 which have a little higher performance in addition to DX11 ( no use in Android ) and the full OpenCL 1.2 support... from our perspective, APQ8074 might be the better choice... the only thing that APQ8084 will be better for us is the support of H265 decoding which the APQ8074 lacks...
Any way, we don't know of any Sony will use it in the H1 infact I doubt that... unless they're targeting a mid year release then there will be a chance...
But Random said before few months that Sony is working on having one flagship per year with a mid year launch... so this might be good

Hey Xajel, the 0 in the second place means there is no modem. APQ is Application Processor only, and perhaps some secondary components, but when there is a radio, the second digit indicates the protocol. 9 for LTE, 6 for CDMA, 2 for WCDMA, 5 for TDS-CDMA ( i think). 8074 is the AP only version of the 8974.

Does that also mean international version of the Z1f will also use IPS?
