Good point Etaab on 4G.
My S3 LTE is Exynos - I don't actually have 4G on it as it's too expensive, but the 2GB is nice  .
It would be nice if Samsung bring the Eyxnos version to the UK but I have a fear they won't as all the networks will be pushing 4G this year.
Question then is do you hold on and try and get an Octo version without LTE or just wait for the S5.
IMO the only two reasons I would upgrade to the S4 are camera increase and screen - the S3 is powerful enough for my needs. Plus, all of the 4.2.2 features and new touchwiz will come to the S3 hopefully around May/June.

Im not ignorant to Samsung problems at all. If mine had such an issue and it started to annoy me, i'd soon sell mine and get something better. Only a few days ago i had to hard reset my S3 because of problems, but they were caused by a problem app which even after uninstallation continued to affect my phone in a very bad way. But that was an issue with the app, not my phone.
It would seem people search for issues to complain about when you're the most popular.
So, you think that Samsung handled the "superbrick" issue as a respectable company is supposed to?? Or that I am making a false allegation here and there are not thousands (or millions) of Galaxy Note devices that got bricked by official Samsung software?
Has any other company released software that contains bugs, capable of litterary killing their devices? And even worse - not solve the problem for months, while unsuspecting users continued to brick their devices?
If you still have a Galaxy Note with official ICS firmware, avoid doing a factory reset on it, unless you want to replace its motherboard

Sorry but those battery tests from gsmarena are put bullshit in real life. Non of the other manufacturers tests by them actually come close in real life.
There should be some serious improvements though on the S4. You're choices are yours, mine are mine just hoping we both enjoy our choices without fault; but battery life is a perceptible thing that is VERY personal based on YOUR usage and that usage will CHANGE based on the apps you use, how frequently you use them, your locations, and mostly your usage habits throughout the year as your life changes within that year.

It is not unlikely. Almost the same as the Note II (69 hours) with a 3100 mah battery and larger 720p screen

@ Tsepz_GP - im pretty certain some of the North American S3 phones had Snapdragon processors. Im not sure about the UK's though.
@ rickster2kuk - RAM is where the S3 failed for me from day one. Android is far too aggressive at closing apps in the background if ram is low. I didnt have much intention to upgrade my S3 this year and whilst the S4 is great, no 2013 handset so far is worth upgrading to from a S3. IMO.
I was hoping for a proper Pureview Lumia phone from Nokia, with a monster 41mp sensor, but that hope never materialised. 2013 will be the year i buy a different phone with a different OS to add a little spice to my mobile life. Android and the S3 will still remain the main day to day phone though.
@ RandomCarpet - ive not heard of the issues you've mentioned. Ive heard of phones stopping working, but not to say theres an issue with Samsungs entire product line or one specific model. I know too many Samsung owners and theres not a single one thats had a problem like this. The only problems ive seen are cracked screens or a single case of a failed microphone in a blue S3.
Has any other company released software that contain bugs ? yes, Sony Remember this from last week ? The thing is, all phones suffer from some issues from day one. Theres never a bug free phone.
@ Sean72 & Hardened - those battery tests are very valid. They give you a good idea of how a phone will perform if you use it to the set standard pattern of usage. Now, most of us will use it much more and it will last not even a quarter of that time, but phones are capable of brilliant battery life if used properly.
My S3 says it all. Yesterday, with very little use:

Yep, the US GS3's all use Snapdragon and all came with 2GB RAM from day one. In terms of international there are two different Exynos S3s, the one that you and I have, known as the I9300 with 1GB RAM, HSPA+ and Exynos available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB and the I9305, with 2GB RAM, HSPA+/LTE and Exynos and its available in only 16GB.

@ Sean, the octo core/quad if running properly could help to extend battery life/charge. I guess however we will all have to wait and see what the real life usage turns to be.

Anyone seen the GS4 Benchmarks??? As USUAL with Exynos, shat on EVERYTHING available  amazes me how Samsung do this year after year, seriously, if I get a GS4 I'm heading straight for the I9500. There is no way I'm settling for a Qualcomm based smartphone not when Samsung and Apple make such brilliant SoCs.
Slightly OT is there yet to be a SoC that totally burns the iPad4's A6X with PowerVR SGX554MP4 GPU??? These two companies seem to have quite grip on the component suppliers, a sort of 1st preference on the best parts.

So, as we had the Octa-Core (GT-I9500) variant of the Galaxy S4, we decided to do some benchmarks. We are just BLOWN away from the results we got. The Galaxy S4 crushed every other device, even the HTC One and the Sony XPERIA Z. We used Antutu and Quadrant as our benchmark tools. The device received a score of 27417 on Antutu and 12726 on Quadrant.
