Shiho, C905 looks great! Its got the 2 essential features that I was missing & craving for in my K850i: A-GPS & WiFi.
Hopefully quality of photos will be improved significantly over previous Cybershot & Quickshare phones (K750i); however not being able to get great photos on my K850i has left me jaded with SE. I just realized how odd it was for  NOT to print the focal length on around the lens on the K850i and I feel this product was a quick cash grab for SE to make Shiho & other such phones. I still prefer the design of the K850i over C905, but we know which is better spec'd. Thats the problem many of us fell for in the K850i ... spec's! Previously I wouldn't hesitate, but even the W760i being delayed almost 1 mth then now finally shipping recently and now C905 which trounces it, I'm going to be extremely cautious.
However, recent events & announcements have allowed my focus in phones to broaden. QVGA @ 30fps in video recording is just fine for "viewing on a phone", VGA @30fps you won't see any improvement on a QVGA screen anyway - only on TV out. These are minor to me, as long as QVGA @30fps and quality photos to print on 3x4 or 6x8 then I'm fine. I need a smartphone though, so I'll be looking at the BB Bold & Nokia E71. And yes quality is just as good or better in appearance to this C905.
Good to see finally changed their position on WiFi in phones, and Tri-band 3G is in this phone just like the K850i. However its also in both the BB Bold and Nokia E71/E66.
JM 8.4 ... wondering if the release timeline of C905 coincides with the MIDP3.0 official finalized spec?! hmmm. THIS would be interesting and may sway me back to SE, but ONLY then.

8MP is useless too you know. it would have been better to have VGA video and say, 6MP or maybe keep it at 5MP.

UPDATE! price will be much lower than 600Euro, mobilarena's editors asked, and will be around 100.000-110.000 HUF (Forint). Check on the net for an exchange and calculate.  peace and will keep you updated with precious info |

589 Euro is unbelieveable! Are all phones that expensive in germany? when k850i (and k810i) arrived, they where around 420 euro max. With 1 year contract ofc. |

Well, we have 19% VAT.
RRP prices in the past were 419€ on G900, 449€ on C902, 449€ on W980... I think 699€ on W960. It's always high but drop in no time. Launch market price of the G900 was about 350€. |

QVGA recording!
My once favourite cellphone manufacturer never learns! This phone should have had optical zoom and VGA recording at least. This is 2008, well, make that 2009 since it's coming out later this year and we're already half way through the year.
Nokia and Samsung are probably smiling right now. One thing for sure is that the both manufacturers are going to make sure they beat this comprehensively in all departments.
Why give the competition an opening when you can make them sweat and thereby struggle or fail to beat you, the least they could do is match you and not surpass you.
Potential buyers are easily swayed. If Nokia or Samsung advertise what their phones competing with the C905 have better features the ordinary man on the street is more than likely to think that those phones are superior than the C905. After all this business is all about sales, so the more the competition sells the more the C905 falls behind meaning the competition takes money from SE and the much sort after market share. In fact, that goes for every SE phone and the other manufacturers of course.
If I remember very well SE said (in 2006) it intended to be the number 3 manufacturer by 2009 or is it 2010. Well, they're stumbling at this stage.
I think this phone is wonderful and shows that SE can do it, it's just that they tend to screw things up here and there instead of shutting the door on the competition. They knew how to do this (kill off the competition) once and they should revisit that forgotten philosophy.

In hungary, G900 could be bought with 75-80.000 Forints. Same here in Romania. We also have that 19% VAT, we call it TVA. Prices may differe from one dealer to another, but till chritmas, the C905 will be around 1300RON (romanian money "Lei") - with 1 year contract at vodafone or Cosmote. Thats what i hope, it always happens like that. I Don't know why they added a 2GB card in the box... just for extra money, because i have 4GB card, and aiming for 8GB. At 3MB/picture even 8GB will be full rapidly. |
