i got my P1 from Dubai, and i have the CDA162022/1 - its the WG1. And i got the new firmware R9K009 from the first day of its release.

i think it will be available for INDIAN P1 also, bcoz its also WG1, IMHO
And about Green tint, i dont had much problem like others, yea ther is a small green tint - if u take pic in Low light conditions.

But i like the changes made to the Auto Focus and the camera performance overall, its lot better now.

ther are some changes in the themes, Back Key function on Java Apps, overall its a good update, for me. IMHO

how is possible that Generic Trade Usa is still in R9H - R6E, the slowest and worst, why is that?

..because.. none of the five proud American p1 owners kept their units for longer than two weeks, before switching to the iPhone for good?

(No, I don't know. Maybe there are some difficulties with getting the releases "coordinated" with the telecompanies or something. Or noone saw the need for having a separate release..?)

OK, before you go and brick your phones.....,

found this quick tutorial for you on the use of XS++:

>tick smartphone connect and press connect, then do the usual to connect your fone (remove batt, sim, mem card, reinsert battery, hold 'C' and connect)

>once connected go to the GDFS menu on the bottom, and press backup GDFS, once completed dissconnect, remove and reinsert battery, and restart XS++

>connect again and once connected it should show a drop down menu with CDA versions, select P1 WG-1 and press run script, the process should only take a couple of mintues

>lastly, connect into SEUS, it should say that you have a new update available for your fone, start the update, once finished unplug fone and enjoy!

thanks to @mobilemodman for this.

Thanks AD, worked perectly for me !

Just for the French listeners (With AZERTY keyboard), changing to the WG-1 doesn't hurt the AZERTY lay out. At startup just choose the French language and everything will be just great.

Just a small detail, when you run XS++ for the second time, of course you have to recheck that you're connecting a smart phone

Not sure if this has been commented on before in this thread, but I notice that the sound problem still exists when watching a movie while streaming the audio via a bluetooth headset.

Although I think its a lot better there are still hick ups in the audio.

Anyone else notice this?

whats your bluetooth device, how far are you and the bt device from the phone when you listen to the video? (I assume hbh ds980 would be the top of the line SE as far as compatibility would go, but who knows...)

Hi,

Got my P1i yesterday and tried to the SE update, as I have done in the past with my P900 and P990, but to no avail. After starting the update program and following the instructions on how to switch the phone off, remove and then reinsert battery and attach the USB cable, I press the "Continue" button on my Windows computer screen. Nothing happens for a long time, and then the P1i reboots. My P1i has:

Phone: CXC 162037 R9G007
Bluetooth: CXC 162143 R1C
Organizer: CXC 162108 R6D23
CDA: CDA 162024/78 R4A

which seems not to be the latest and greatest firmware. What am I doing wrong?

Please help!

I don't care so much about the camera. I am more worried about finding several bugs, leading to a total hang of the phone, in the current FW already after using the phone for only an hour or so... I'll see what I will do.

@BoThide

Are you actualy following SEUS's instructions to the letter? I notice you say nothing about pressing and holding the 'c' button whilst attaching the usb cable - if the phone simply reboots on connection, it would seem that it is not getting into 'Flash Mode' & this is normally initiated by holding the 'c' key.

If you are doing this, try holding the '@' key on the right hand side of your phone instead as you connect, it used to work on my p990...

Thanks for the comment,

Of course, I follow the instructions to the least point (even though I did not include every little tiny detail in my description of the process, which, incidentally, I have gone through successfully many, many times on my P900 and P990 phones). That of course includes pressing down C and holding it down (for a long time even). I must have tried the update on my P1i about 15 times by now. All with identical results: Nothing, nothing and then nothing until the P1i reboots automatically...

u obviously have a firmware that is not supported for upgrade (firmware from some operator, branding etc.) - just flash it to the Generic World 1 and update - how?
use the search and stop flooding this topic - this topic is for this firmware only!
when will people stop asking the same questions over and over again?!?
