W910i Firmware/Bug Overview |

I still cannot update from my R1CA039 to the new firmware. This is driving me mad, because I can't stand the slow menus of W910i, that this new firmware is supposed to speed up.
It keeps saying that there is no update available.
I live in Sweden, if that matters. |

since you had the "Kent edition" of the W910, it's a branded version, and then the firmware is either not released yet for this version, or it's only available through service points. You can always try contacting helpdesk and ask them, 013-244500. Otherwise you have to get your phone debranded in order to update it with the latest firmware.

Or else you can try going to the SE service centre in your city..they do it for free..and they dont use stupid SEUS..
I had unbranded R1CA029 and SEUS kept showin me no new firmware..so i took da above option..n i'm happy |

@Cytech
I have the Kent-edition, just debranded it yesterday to get rid of the 'K' as the internet icon. Anyway, I debranded to R1CA039 GENERIC NORDIC with davinci, and I still can't update through SEUS. Could it be that the new firmware isn't out in Scandinavia yet?

May be the same thing that i am seeing that the debranding works fine but SEUS still identifys your phone as branded and there is no update to the branded firmware.
May have to wait for davinci or totalgsm to get the generic new version and go through the process and payment again |

I updated my W910i to R1CA039 last week and it completly crashed on me on SAT night whilst in the middle of receiving a Video file via bluetooth.
It restarted and when it came back on the theme had been reset to the std Walkman theme the time and date remained ok and I had not lost any Vids or music just had to reset my theme.
Thought i would let you all know, only happend one time so far and othere than that its been ok.
Darren.

sounds to me likea a memory stick problem, the phone probably returned a write error on the memory card transfer( perhaps you ran out of space), when you restart without a memory card you obviously won't have the correct theme, so it will set the default one from the phone itself.
Just an idea, probably a one off occurence you will find.

Hmmm if the firmware of k850i is similar to w910 i wanna ask you something ... Have your FW have a bug with theme (with customized Media look) i mean when you rotate your phone in Media to Landscape position is everything ok ? Or background is gone? ... If you don`t know what am i talking about here you have some short clip ... LINK |

Is your Sim Card 3G compatable or is it a std 2G? Just a thought.... |

The sim card is definitely 3G compatible. I just don't know if there is a difference between a 3G and a 3G+ (HSDPA) sim card. |
