Laffen, take NOTICE of my post. There is this website, www.mod-chip.com. It sells chips for gaming consoles. I have bought stuff from this guy before and he is honest. It is based in austria. Get the banner from his site. He pays three cents per click. There are many banners to choose from, and it is FAST to load. It wont slow the site down much. I use it on my site at www.geocities.com/sanjeevjaya Go there and have a look. I hope that helped.

. I realise my last post didn't add much of particular substance. So to help, I've circulated an email around my staff concerning Esato and its short term funding problems, asking for suggestions.
They are a clever lot (and do this kind of stuff for a living). Anything worthwhile that comes up, I'll post later/tomorrow.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
... we've come up with a few ideas that have not as yet ben mentioned, aimed at short term funding:
1. It has been suggested that as this is a mobile phone site, there must be plenty of old handsets knocking about. I genuinley don't know the answer to this one but do they have any kind of re-sell value? If so, an address to which to send them would be handy. I, personally, have 3 hand sets from the last 18 months which I'd be happy to donate if you can get any value from them... & there must be hundreds more out there among members.
2. Laffen, Its been pointed out that you could perhaps be doing more to make this a high profile campaign. All successful appeals have one thing in common - a target at which to aim for. We suggest a banner on the home page which is updated regularly, stating what is in and what is needed to go to save the site. Keep it up on the home page until there is no more need for it. Don't be embarrassed, its OK to ask. Make it very prominent so people don't forget the problem still exists.
3. The following is a link that pays good money for people willing to provide personal info about themselves for direct mailing purposes. We are not sure on what the situation is outside the UK, but certainly here in England they pay up to the equivalent of $3 for the right kind of name with all associated details:

-Maybe worth contacting them and posting up on the site?
...& finally, if all else fails, one joker in the office suggested putting the remaining no. on black at the casino and doubling up!
Seriously though, if we come up with anything else tomorrow, I'll let you know. |

I'm gonna donate a small amount each month i am still using the site from now on. The important thing really is that people don't just make donating a one off thing because this problem will keep coming back. I'm sure most of the users who have the ability to donat wouldn't miss a couple of dollars each month !?!?!?!? |

any way else folks like me can make a small contribution...tried paypal and they dun accept cards from unauthorised countries and i happen to hold cards in such a country.....was offline the past week and logged in to see the shockin news....guess a whole bunch out there shares and feels the pain.....but i choose to look on the bright side of things.....something will break for the better....
@orka
u said it...what easto needs mostly now is funding and that translates to cold hard cash......i'm darn sure we can help one way or the other....as the saying goes, a trickle can lead to a stream and a stream can turn into a river.....i'm going to the extent of cuttin down on my ciggie intake to contribute the diff to esato...anybody else care to play a part.....

@shithappens
That's ok with me. I agree. However, if you run out of money lets say for a week, you would propably have serious problem for that particular week... You should try to find a way to find cash. Is that correct? Afterwards, of course you should find a way to secure that income for the long run and here is the discussion part.... That's the main idea of what I am saying. Esato right now needs money. Of course conversation is good and healthy! But in order to have the ability to discuss here, esato must be alive, first of all.
Finally, I am pretty sure, that Laffen has search many options in order to overcome the funding problem, before posting that *R.I.P. esato* note. The fact that we all propose some long term funding solution might be good, but right now is out of subject. |
