i`m very happy with this firmware, as you can see in the screenshot, 4 days uptime, i use SMAN to flush tasks ans SMPRO for level 3 reclaim after using opera , media player or other memory hungry apps.

I made a backup with R5, updated to R6E28 and restored the backup (without extra apps). After restore my bluetooth devices (paired devices, headset & car) were missing.
Re-pairing was necessary.

I would say probably because the backup was made with R5. My backup was made with R6D23 and everything works including paired bluetooth devices.
P990i: A mistake, a curse and a disgrace So I lowered my expectations and settled for a P1i. I couldn't keep my expectations so low for a long time so now I have an HTC Touch HD

If any of you are still on R5, I would definitely recommend the latest fw. Especially if you use WLAN and Opera the speed improvement and reliability is noticeable.
I haven't had a restart either with R6D23 or R6E28. Phone is quite stable and so far I haven't been able to find any new bugs in R6E28.

An off-topic question but here goes:

While using media player, I noticed that it would instantly shut down after a few minutes of usage. Is it because of Swiss Manager Pro?

Probably. If you check the 'cleanup when idle' box, media player will get killed after a while

there arent any changes that you would feel except for the space bar bug... but since it is the last firmware, it would be best to upgrade your phone..... ^_^

Probably - Sony Ericsson said a month or so ago that they would release one more update (this one). Don't expect any more.

The end of support for the P990i coincides with the end of me being a SE customer. I'll be selling my P990 as soon as the price of the Nokia E90 stops causing my eyes to water.

If users kick up again about any as yet undiscovered bugs and/or missing whitepaper features, then it might not be the final firmware.

My personal feeling is that some people will push SE for a "fix" to bugs or missing whitepaper features, and for that relatively small population (it seems most people are reasonably happy right now) SE will probably prefer to refund or exchange on "unfixable" things, given that such problems would only be fixable with new firmware, all they can do at a service centre is reflashing.

There's a cost to benefit ratio that all companies have; in the case of the "spacebar bug" firmware release, the expected exchange/refund cost against the cost of further development was too high, obviously.

Will this upgrade revive a P990i with a blank screen?
