@atsamala - Do you still use your phone as GPRS modem? I can imagine kung gano kalaki bill mo. Nakakailang KB ka ba per month? Do you use it for laptop or PDA? Tsaka is it true na free sa smart when u use GPRS for browsing internet using ur phone as a modem? Daming tanong no... |

@jocer buddy thanks for the info...
Pano kaya nalalaman ng Globe or Smart yung diff ng browsing and downloading sa GPRS? Alam ko kasi its all or nothing. How about streaming media? Is it considered browsing pa rin (free) or downloading ($$$) |

@calvin, i think they differentiate it by means of medium u r using...di ba when u use ur phone as a modem it dial this *99***1#...so iguess from here they know that u r using it as a modem...pag wap naman automatic lam nila na sa cell mo ginagamit....
its more of a networking issues eh...they know the origin or ip address i guess...like using the internet in pc via an ISP...they know kung san galing yung connection coz of the phone line u r using...
magulo ba ?? hope helps.. |

@atsamala, thanks for trying to explain it. Yes it's easy to understand how they find out if your using your phone as modem by the number you dial (*99*...) but when you're browsing with wap on your phone and download a ringtone which is not in globe's website, do you think they can track it? Makapag-experiment nga. Let's see if it shows up in my next billing |
