Libben:
The size and color depth of the screen doesn't really have much to do with the size of the video file. Its the compression bitrate that really determines that. But if you really want to know, raw image data @ 25 fps for a 2 hour long 18 bit video would come around at roughly 29 gigabytes ;D
Seriously tho I think a ~100-150 mbyte video (2 hour long) will be quite enjoyable on the p990.

I used to use bitrate 140 for my pocketloox 720 and simpsons eps was around 100 mb if my memory is not mistaking.

I just assumed a good quality for the calculations.

I wonder what the minimum and maximum speed on write and transfer speed is.

Ive found this duo

http://www.zdmicro.com/sony-g[....]61d7e073f75d74ef811f834d173b53

Is p990i high speed enable device? think we need to email SE and ask them about that ;P

I'm a bit disappointed that the white paper confirmed that it can only do 15fps video recording. I was actually expecting it can do a lot better considering that it has a faster processor. Anyway it's still a great phone.
resistance is futile.

Also, no H.264 support - considering that this codec gives much better quality at the same bitrate, and is already used in both iPod Video and the Sony PSP, I would have expected it to be in the P990.

I think I'll stick with my P910i and SmartMovie a bit longer

you can get 30fps but only at lower resolutions of QCIF (176x144), QQVGA (160x120) and SQCIF (128x96)

QVGA (320x240) only gives 15fps

take a read of the white paper for more details

I'm fairly sure someone will bring out applications to record from the radio I for one will be having a go at coding for UIQ3 when I finally get my P990. I have quite alot of knowledge about C++ with the Windows and Winsock API's. Can't wait to make some custom apps (hopefully anyway )
