I guess if your Z1 didn't detect it at all, you couldn't do that. it seems more likely that the card is defective than the Z1, but that wouldn't explain your friend's card not working. But, it is coming from an S4, which could explain it.
Sucks you can't read it in your computer, cause then you could do more tests. I guess all that's left for you to do is buy a new card and try it. If it works, then it's the card, if not, then it's the Z1 for some odd reason. But, apparently it works since supercoolman has his working. I'll report once I have a chance to test mine.. my card won't arrive til wednesday according to amazon.
didn't just un-mount I insisted he turned it off each time, I know it sucks and I am totally gutted, I know I'm not really to blame but it was me he was helping out and it was my phone that messed his card up
I am still reading conflicting reports that the Z1 does support exfat - that link from XDA that I posted earlier, I asked the developer of the ROM if the Z1 supported exfat and he answered a clear no - the reason I asked was exfat support was included in the ROM description
I've noticed a couple of bugs in the Z1 over the last few days
The possible sd problem or maybe it's my device - yet to be determined (going to a shop today to get them to fit one)
WiFi doesn't connect to known previous connections (have to reboot) I have a hotspot set on my laptop which is 10 feet from me - when I enable the HS the phone doesn't see it, after reboot it instantly connects

I just updated/flashed the firmware to 526 HK version as all my phones before were from HK and the always got updates first, so I'm hoping that will trigger the official update process from Sony PCC in the next few days to 534 - if not I'll just flash it myself |

From the images you posted and what I can see at the page you linked, it seems like you chose Z.

@geoffxx - hmmm.. i hope your SD card issue works. like i noted before, supercoolman got his 64gb card to work, but he hasn't said if it was a new card of a previously used one? can you enlighten us supercoolman? Sucks on the other issues. I have not heard or read of others having those issues, though I have heard of random reboots but not anything of real concern. hopefully an update will fix all the issues you're having. where did you get yours from again?
@ermac - with the xperia privilege app, you should have access to 2 months of music unlimited, and access to the video unlimited to download 5 digital movies of your choice and 1 special release, which i think has to be elysium when it comes out. The free playstation mobile games won't be available until november with 2 free downloads a month. so, for now, check out music unlimited and the video unlimited and see if that works like it should.

Same here! I am signed in to both video and music unlimited and the only thing showing up in xperia privilege is a link for an rpg game!

Wish I could help you guys, but I don't even know what the app looks like.
All I can say is, make sure your app is updated to Version 3.0. From the google Play screenshots, there should be two big boxes, one with "try music unlimited for 60 days" and one with "5 great movies from video unlimited ... "
If you're not seeing those big buttons it's either
(1) you haven't updated to 3.0
(2) sony hasn't really provided the content yet for some odd reason in regards to the Z1
(3) there's some extra step somewhere?
(4) it's blocking you out cause your SIM says US, even though the App says UK..
Hopefully some of you can figure it out before i get mine! or when i get mine, i can figure it out

EDIT: seems the magnetic charging cable is the same one as the ZU's which is available now for much much cheaper than the price of the dock. The dock is nice and all, but i can easily create a little stand to stick my Z1 in and then attach the magnetic charging cable. I use my phone as my alarm, so it'll be nice to have it in clock mode (dimmed) and see the clock at all times as it's charging.

well tried 64gb cards from Sandisk - Kingston - unbranded and they all worked out of the box - go figure
I have no idea why my mates card messed up it is a real mystery - I can only conclude that if a 64gb cards have special code on them relating to the device that they were first used on that can cause problems
I had the dock for the XZU and it works fine, very slight thickness difference but I just use the adaptor that was designed for charging with a cover on and it is ok, when I get a cover I'll take the adaptor out and if I need to I'll line it with something to make a snug fit - no biggy |

@ermac cool. it looks like just the adapter though. i think i want the corded version.. i'll have to look a bit. I think I'll wait a bit to see how these charger adapters/cords/docks from china are as far as how well they actually charge the Z1. Let me know how yours is..

yes good news I guess, I'm going to come clean - the mate I referred too is actually a girl I've been wanting to date - she's a bit none technical and I wanted to take her sd card home and see if I could recover the files for her which is very possible, unfortunately she doesn't realise that I can actually do that, I tried to explain that she has nothing to loose - she said her friend can do it and if that fails she'll give it to me to try but I'd rather see it first as if you mess with it the wrong way the data can be lost for good - what I think happened is she hit the quick format button when she put the card back in her phone not realising that it would erase the files - they are all still there I think just need to run it through Pandora file recover - that's of course if her friend doesn't wipe it clean |

@geoffxx - haha you sneaky devil. well, good luck with that. you should have gave her a story like "oh since you lost your files on my phone, i'm the only one who might be able to recover them for you".. sure, it's not true. but it gets you first look, then you can maybe save the day!

Moogoo, I decided to go with the adapter instead of the cable because it's easier to travel around with. If went to my friend's house and wanted to charge my phone it will be easier to slip the adapter in my pocket and just use his micro USB cable. But I might get the cable version later for home use, let's see how this adpater goes |
