Its not just a claim, its a bloddy FACT. Mizzle does have more acess to SE than 98% of the people here, and i surely can testify that. So its funny how people that don´t know NOTHING and are mostly moved by the desire of bashing anything SE related pretend to have any argumentative superiotity over Mizzle´s comments

It's hard to believe a person when he has no proof to back him up. Anyone here can claim he has ties to whomever or wherever. Until I see proof, I'm not believing. And his post comparing the N95, which has been out for a while now, to the next P-series is just not too intelligent and putting his credibility in jeopardy at that. If I claim I knew someone from SE, I would wait to have proofs before even mentioning it. Otherwise I would just look like a fool to the mass.

@ mizzel
how good do you think UIQ 4 is in terms of functionality and reaction to the finger based navigation
and is it really finger friendly, more over allowing us to do every thing using fingers ? including text messaging?
and is it customizable ? i mean themes and so on..

the question is software wise but if you know anything about the hardware then your more than welcomed to speak your mind

thanks in advance !!

The thing is, Mizzle has proven himself to be trustworthy before and so any member who is here regularly knows that they can take what Mizzle says reasonably seriously.

I say reasonably seriously because of course some things will be wrong sometimes. Like Chinese whispers, any truth can be stretched by somebody along the way and end up untrue, but mostly Mizzle has been correct!

If you're not going to believe anything without proof, then you may as well not visit this thread, as with the strictness of companies like SE about their secrets, almost nothing escapes and so most of the info here relies on word of mouth with no proof in the form of pictures or websites.

You're doing better to believe Mizzle than much of what others say on this and many other forums

@neo
If you take a look at the first version of UIQ and compare it to UIQ 2.x, and then to UIQ 3.x, you'll notice that the UI has significantly improved through the years and lately it is much more about usability than ever before - just compare the UI of the P990 with the one on W960; many more things can be done easily on the W960 with your finger. Anyhow, don't worry, won't do an "iPhone" (that's meant as an expression, not object).

@R1
Why would I need to prove that I know people from ? First of all, that could put people in serious trouble and second of all, I really do not need to share anything with you, but yet, here I am doing it.

@GTommy
Yes, that's correct.

If SE are planning Windows Mobile devices as some have mentioned in other threads, how can you be sure that the P5 will have UIQ 4? WM7 looks to be finger based and maybe the P5 will run that. SE would not not use WM on their Walkmans so that would leave the P series. I have no idea, I'm just speculating.

@sealover

you are the man

but just a note, I think the slider should be on the other side ( the left side of the phone )

why ?
coz most peoples are right handed and they will use the d-pad with the right hand when they finish typing on the querty...

+ AFAIK all portrait mode phones are designed with d-pad in the right
