Hello

Would appreciate your help on this matter if possible, would really help me.

Right.. I bought the Sony Ericsson K800i the other day on contract with O2, I live in the UK and am having great difficulty. You all know the symptons, basically the bastard is doing my head in and I've been trying since half 3 to upgrade the firmware; but to no avail.

I've been using SEUS all day, keeps saying "You currently have the most updated firmware installed" - when I don't...

I want to get this fixed for tonight if possible, I hate the god damn noise when listening to the radio and its irritating.

Hi Stokes

SE haven't yet released either the generic or the branded updates for UK phones onto SEUS yet - that's why it's giving you the message about having the latest firmware.

If you can wait then I'd hope it was out in the next week or so. If you really want it urgently then you can use Wotan Server - it'll cost you €7 though to use their service.

Cheers

Alan

As you are new, I would like to be the first to welcome you. As you are new I would like to be the first to inform you that there is no need to curse. It will not get your problems solved any faster or make people pay attention. In my case I was inclined to go right by your post, however as you are new most things can be excused.

As for your problem. Your phone has the latest f/w as far as O2 is concerned. They have not released a branded update for your phone via SEUS. Your only option is to go to www.wotanserver.com and purchase a credit and update your phone yourself, or you can continue to wait.

I'd check out the Wotan server. Its works out about £4 I think to update your phone.

i had a rather annoying/disturbing experience yesterday. it happened twice actually.

the first time, i was in the middle of downloading stuff from the SE site when all of a sudden, the internet 'globe', the 3G icon and the blue GPRS band over the signal bars disappeared. simultaneously, i got an error message telling me to check my connection settings.

i exited the browser and returned to the standby screen only to find the 'Invalid SIM' indicator. i thought it really strange since i have a relatively new USIM so that should not be the problem. in any case, i shut the phone off for a few seconds, restarted it, and all was fine again.

then it happened a 2nd time later in the day when i was updating RSS feeds. same thing with the 'Invalid SIM'. i tried switching to GSM only but it had no effect. when i tried to search for other networks, it said the function was not available at this time. again, when i turned the phone off for a few seconds, everything was fine when i restarted it.

i'm running R1EJ001 from wotanserver, along with the updated EROM. incidentally, the same exact 'Invalid SIM' thing happened a couple of times as well on a K618 i was testing.

it's definitely a bug but i'm not sure what exactly causes it. it only happens during data transfers. could it be caused by intermittent 3G signal trigerring some kind of error? i did intensive downloading this morning on GSM mode only and didn't encounter any problems.

if anyone has any insights, they would be highly appreciated. otherwise, this will just serve as something to look out for in case others encounter a similar problem.

HI I just joined ESATO...I have been reading through all the posts regularly. I have upgraded from a T610 to a K800i....been using it for a month now...Very happy....BUt then as they say pride goes before a fall!
I did the most stupid thing to upgrade the firmware of my phone K800i to R1ED001 060831 via SEUS.........All went well except now I have all the games and applications reinstalled and locked. I have 2 copies of all the applications/games and they dont start -> says operation failed. Neither can I remove them. Any help guys? Now I have the radio hiss also. Is there a way to go back to the older version? I feel pity on myself for f***in up my beautiful phone! AAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaa! Please help me out here!

barring a reflash at a service centre, i'd say try reflashing your phone via wotanserver. it costs 1 euro but works quite well, plus up get the updated EROM too.

@redsheep: Silly question maybe, but did you install the USB drivers from the Wotan site?

Upgraded mine last week and very happy with my now unbranded software!
