Ye i agree with Rhino, what else can they add? The N95 basicaly brought everything possible id rather have improved exsisting features such as better screen, better UI, better battery life, better browsing experience etc. .. . . Even the X1 adds nothing much, it actualy doesnt even have TV-Out. What NOKIA S60 always needed especialy the Nseries was a better screen res to take full advantage of the S60 Web browser which is so highly functional but can be so annoying to use on a QVGA res screen, the E90 realy shows how great the S60 Web browser is so does the 5800xm in landscape, this 640x360 screen res is exactly what S60 phones needed.
Gola
Lol and here i thought i was the only one to have that happen, i blame vodafone! lol

I have to agree, 640 x 480 (360 will do) screen size is important... also better battery life... I cant imagine anything else id like my mobile to be able to do... except maybe making coffee

I personally need just 4 things in a cellphone.A large screen, in my case 800 by 352 (perfect for browsing) HSDPA Got to have the 3.5G high speed internet.(at home its pretty much 24/7 connected) WLAN (which I use all the time at work) and a good QWERTY kEYBOARD (which I think the E90 has) Three of those things are internet related.I always felt a bit annoyed browsing on the N95-2 because I never got the full experience.I just think when phones and the internet are becoming so intertwined, the days of the 240 by 320 resolutions are only if you using a phone as a phone..In landscape mode its bearable but still a pain in the ass.If you use your phone like I do for internet browsing over your desktop computer or laptop then a phone with a bigger screen than 240 by 320 is advisable.Other than those four things I couldnt care less how many MP's my phone camera has as long as it take shots that are acceptable.30fps's is nice to have as a bonus.I can do without a tv-out function and yes a fm transmitter would be fun to have.I just think that as things stand today we are going to need a hell of alot to get 'wowwed' out of our socks. For instance Im not so excited like I used to be with all these new phones been announced because when it comes to what I mainly use my phone for which is the internet,im pretty satified with what I have. All my needs are filled with those 4 things on a phone with a stable firmware and a good OS in my case been S60.If theres one thing Im starting to hate in most these forums (which when i see a new thread about say for instance the Xperia thread or the new N97 thread) I get excited to have alook and see what people are thinking and by page three or so all you are getting are people fighting and been nasty to each other,Xperia/Sony vs N96/Nokia ect I dont have a manufacturers prefrence.I think as a whole they all coming out with some spectacular gadgets. Its very competitive out there.I think each one of them are doing a fantastic job keeping people like us happy.Im happy that I found a device that I can say Im going to have until it takes its last breathe.Thats saying alot.I wish Motorola and Sony Ericsson the best because I think they need it,wher most people would lick their lips at their demise.Fanboys, you gotta lovethem hey.So blinded and loyal to a company that in most cases dont even know they exist and couldnt care less.Enough ranting and raving.Im going to try post more often without editing and thinking to much about whats been regurgitated.Getting to type reallyfast on this Qwerty now like the hacker in DIE HARD 3 lol

You know, for me there isn't much difference between the X1 and the N97. Sure, the N97 bests the X1 here and there but not enough for me to buy it. The X1 does throw in a few punches of its own here and there as well.

So, if both were symbian (I just can't tolerate WM) I would still take the X1 over this. Would've been even better if the X1 was UIQ- RIP UIQ.

I do believe the E90 succesor will be brilliant which may be what I've been waiting for unless SE comes up with something better.

Speaking of the successor to the E90, I have a feeling it is going to look like the N97 in terms of design. I mean, the E90's design is now cumbersome, the dual screen design has been rendered useless by this design ever since HTC popularised it.

This all reminds me of the original P series vs the compact P1. The P1 is really ergonomic and a joy to use compared to the old P series.

This becomes even more intriguing and exciting for us the end users in that we may just get stunning smartphones next year. SE will surely release the X2 and possibly the X3 while Nokia comes up with the E90 successor and hopefully some more nice goodies. Now, I'm thinking about the X1/N97 with regard to specs and what awaits us next year. Of course, I'm hoping for SE's offering to be symbian. I can see Wimax in those phones.

Can't wait!!

Lol Hobbs both the N97 and X1 Threads are starting to look scary, when i post i just post and hope my head aint totaly taken off by some smartass lol!
I agree with EMS theres not much diff between X1 and N97 but they are aimed at different users, personaly id take the N97 because of Symbian S60, TV-Out, Web browser and battery life. I think the X1 should be compared to the E90. The N97's only real rival is the Omnia, BlackBerry Storm and maybe the HTC G1, since they're aimed at Social Networking and all that. I cant believe people are still expecting to get some kind of revolutionary device, the N95 and iPhone were the last of that kind lol. Atleast thats what i think.

Hobbs think i may try stay away from them especialy X1 Thread which i actualy lost interest in lol.
Thats the only prob with getting a new memory card, having to reinstall everything, but once you've finished setting up its all worth it, 16GB is a great amount, i wonder how much iPod Video sales have dropped since these large memory cards and phones with large memory were released. Soon 32GB MicroSDs are gona be out, imagine having a N97 with 32GB MicroSD? 64GB of mem in your phone.

I'm not sure whether anyone has wondered about this either... why is the N-series denoted by the letter N, the E-series by E, etc? And what comes after the N97? N98, N99... and then? I know it sounds odd maybe... but i'd love to know.

Hmmm, I haven't got NE ideas as to why; I guess it's a bit of an NE-gma...

I have often wondered about that also, Kryptik.

Why not the normal progression of numbers, like, N1 then move on to N2 and so on?

How did they come up with N70 to start with? SE went back to P1 from P990, makes me wonder what Nokia are going to do after N99 (if ever they go there at all).
