Thanks, I think this is a major improvement. I hope R2AE will be available online.

@dxcore - If there's too much noise, use a noise reduction filter such as the one supplied by Neat Image. Note that such applications will not improve a picture that has been badly taken - the source must be in a pretty good condition.
As the processing power of CPU's within phones increases, the phones will perform this task automatically. Many digital cameras "secretly" perform this operation.
Cheers!

To be honest, i cant see much difference except for less noise on the darkest of pictures.

Yep, the newer camera driver probably reduces noise by a small degree via a noise filter. Heavy duty noise reduction probably won't be possible with the K700's puny central processing unit. If it did, the phone would appear to freeze for an unreasonable amount of time!
Cheers!

@screwston - u need to upgrade your firmware with R2AE at a SE service center. The camera driver 3.10 is part of R2AE firmware.

@screwston - if u still have warranty dont try to upgrade it yourself since R2AE is not available as yet on the sony online upgrade service and it would void your warranty if you did it with some third party service
If you still want to do it yourself, take a look here -

yeah, if you still have warranty and you dont need to send it or anything, just go to a SE service center, a 30 minutes job
