definitely like the new gallery. looks much more intuitive to use! i just hope organizing the photos into folders is easy because it is almost impossible to do on the phone right now...

I know it's now impossible to see non-Sony camera modules on an Xperia device but for the sake of information

It's not designed for phones, but for digital still cameras and video cameras... it's even a large sensor @ 1/2.3...

If its concerning the diffrence of kernal version, then 3.0.8 itself is old now. New kernel just released few days back..
Sony did screw up with the update, and i hope after they worked out the ics update for xperia u and sola, they port that for 2011 devices..

Not only, just look at the UI.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

Opps I missed that, as I read the description in the official image (DSC/DVC)...

Any way, there's no chipset from the current SoC's even the high-end ones can handle 4K video recording, talking on both side hardware encoding or camera bus bandwidth ( 8 MIPI lanes )

Well looking after the fact that it's going to start production on the last quarter of this year, we might see these sensors on phones on next year, and by that time I'm pretty sure there will be SoCs that can do 4K video recording, but honestly We'll need way more storage for that

Not just more storage, but faster also... I don't think class 4 microsd will be enough even class 6 will be hard.. Xperia S with it's fullhd footage require 16mbps, that's about 2MB/s of sustained speed, enough for class 4..

But 4k is 4x the FullHD resolution, which will require at least 3 - 4 times the bitrate... 48-64 which equals to 6 - 8 MB\\s translated to Class 6 will be minimum and you can't trust sustaining this speed with some other IO by the OS or any other app... Class 10 will be the minimum I think !!

Xperia Tipo Dual is the name for a new low-end smartphone with dual-sim functionality

The name of a new Sony Xperia model has been unearthed by the Indonesian Telecoms Regulatory body. They have a 100% record so far, outing the name of both the Xperia P and Xperia U before they were officially announced. The Sony Xperia Tipo Dual is likely to be low-end handset targeted to emerging markets.

We therefore expect the handset to have the exact specs apart from dual-sim support. This includes a 3.2-inch (320 x 480) display, Qualcomm MSM7227 800MHz processor with Adreno 200 GPU, 512MB RAM, 3MP camera with no LED flash shooting video at VGA resolution (640 x 480). It will come with a 1450mAh battery and will launch with Android 4.0 ICS.

i think someone said it before, but i really wish Sony would quit with the low end markets and focus on the mid to high end markets. how much money could they possibly be making producing and developing essentially "throw away" phones?

How do you store your music? Isn't 4gb limiting?

In case you don't know, low-mid end smartphones were responsible for the success in Nokia's smartphones, and the same reason why Samsung now leads the smartphone sector. high end smartphone users are just a fraction of the total smartphone users all over the world
