@gola: Only the Wanqsta can accurately answer your question but I would think the Vodafone's charges for data would be more expensive than Vodacom.

Just got back from a looong parents' evening.

I think da brixsta would be right in saying that Vodafone in SA would possibly be more than Vodacom, but it's all kinda relative.
An example, Virgin in SA won't be the same (per any fluctuating exchange rate) as Virgin UK; the pricing would be evaluated against a specific country's going rates and competition's charges etc etc.

As with Vodafone worldwide, visiting the (crap) Vodafone L!ve portal is free, but venture away and then the costs of course start mounting up...

Vodafone UK have recently changed the way they charge GPRS, probably due to some serious price wars with ASDA (low-cost supermarket powerhouse), who use Vodafone as their roaming partner, Tesco (who use O2 to roam) and other new 'el cheapo' networks like Lebara etc.

Vodafone charge £1.00 (approx R16) per 15MB each day, thereafter £2 (R32!!) per meg!
What happens if one doesn't surf that much a day? As soon as you use over half a meg/500kb, you get docked £1; thereafter the remaining 14 and a half mb are essentially 'free', until you go over that.
If you use less than half a meg a day, you'll be charged with 1p (16c) per 5kb used, which obviously equates to the 100p (£1) = 500kb.

Phew! Right, lemme go make some coffee...

Whichever settings you use, you still get billed the same amount and from my experience there really is no difference in Vodacom's "Internet" APN and Vodafone's "VLive" APN. If you're on bundle than cost can go as low as 35c/MB on a MyMEG500 plan.

Hey m4tc welcome to SAMD,
lol i also have a w880i and had an n95 when they just got released.yes w880i is a nice slim phone and good for your music via the headset(not sure if it can handle 8gb),but lets be honest as we are all intelligent adults here in this thread-it's not the best!lol it's lacking lots of features that newer phones have now,in fact n95 is also lagging behind nowadays.
Where in SA are you from?

@Falcon and all, maybe m4tc just meant that its the best phone for his needs... Not everyone is as needy as the rest of us when it comes to mobile computing? right?
