Well, after having som problems with my java programs I used the Wotan firm. First of all it delete everything on my phone. Contacts and picstures. I dont know if this is normal. But I took a copy of the phonebook for 3 days ago and saved it on the memory stick. Talk about luck!!!

But there is a big diffrents in the sound on SEUS and Wotan. Wotan is still as bad as in the old firmware. So I "upgraded" again to the SEUS firmware.

Now its normal again. But I dont have to hold the internet button for 2 sec to open.

Argh..

Firmware: R1ED001
EROM: R3A016

Upgrading to new firmware will totally wipe your phone of everything that has been saved on it.
Backing up on the memory card is the safest route

i usually back my files ni MPE. pretty convenient. although sometimes the FW upgrade doesn't wipe out he phone (for my k750 it didn't delete my phone files) but in my k800 it did.

MPE doesn't even work for my K790i. I can never get it to work.. Only some functions of it "work". Most of the time, the syncing (ie. backing up contacts, SMS, etc.) gives me some OBEX interface error. And I was using the correct COM port too.

i can't remember for sure but i think this happened to me too. try uninstalling MPE and installing it again. also try transfering to another usb port might work for you

@o166

From what Snickersz says, you may have to flash again and again until you get it straight. It was my understanding from SE that their software SEUS only reads the CDA and determines the language pack to send down to the phone. I would guess that there was a flashing error with the phone. I checked this from my friends at the SE svc ctr and they said anything is possible but highly unlikely. They also said that the SEUS might not let you flash again because it will see that you have the latest software. In the end you might need to go to Wotan and flash through them.

@radiomanic,

In regards to the sound. Officially SE says nothing, but unofficially they are taking preemptive action. If you remember a few months ago, Apple got sued because several iPod users were a bit too dumb to turn down the volume in their iPods. Sooo Apple issued a firmware upgrade that limited the volume and they issued instructions on how to properly listen to music. SE is doing the same thing but without the lawsuit. After reading several posts here from certain individuals, it is obvious that limiting the volume was a smart decision as some people are "challenged" by their phones. Don't look for a volume increase any time soon.

Another little change in R1ED001 firmware

When you mark a email to be deleted a small bin appears in the lower right corner of the envelope. In the former firmware an X appeared

I can't find any negative about the new firmware. I love the speed of the phone now. It was okay before but now it's very nice, feels like when you reformat and install a clean OS.

If it was for the k750i, then it wouldn't go on a k790/k800i.
