Honestly, its a really good phone! I cant believe the general opinion of it is bad. Why?
Im going to write a review and hopefully people will change their minds after reading a review from a person who has actually used it!
oli - yeah? I will always wonder what C905 would be like in the flesh. I did see one in the supermarket (in palmy of all places!) and it was the bronze version. Looked good from what i saw but hard to see. |

That'll be NZ Communications I bet!
Edit: Speculation on Geekzone is that it is Telecom's new network which is being brought forward to a May launch date. That's odd because I've already registered on the Telecom website for info about the new network and now I'm being asked to do so over again on the testdrive site.
Is XT supposed to hint at Xtra? Perhaps. I'm still looking forward to NZC more than Telecom.

Are you sure that isn't just a black W705? Is the W995 out yet?
SE are supposed to be releasing W595, W705 and W715 in NZ in June, perhaps C905 too?

Wooo! We just hit 2000 posts guys! Another milestone!
And it's definitely the W995... You can watch it on the website. I kind of wonder how they managed to bring Richard Hammond into it though. Is it an international ad that they've gone and used for the NZ network or what?

I have no idea how to do that but I think a Geekzone member already did it with this result:
registrant_contact_name: Telecom IP Limited
registrant_contact_address1: P O Box 949
registrant_contact_city: WELLINGTON
registrant_contact_country: NZ (NEW ZEALAND)
registrant_contact_phone: +64 4 4738278
registrant_contact_fax: +64 4 4723358
registrant_contact_email: BBCode End -->
The PO Box goes back to a Wellington law firm A J Park who specialize in branding and intellectual property (IP).

It was probably when TopGear came to NZ and they booked Little Richard in advanced. Only Telecom could pull that off - new starter networks wouldnt have resources or funds for stars like him!
Lookin forward to hearing more about what they have to offer. Maybe they will take more stance on getting the very latest handsets? Someone needs to thats for sure. Maybe we will start to see heavy mobile subsidies again? When Telecom did that, they were honestly killing it. When they switched off the subsidies, all they had was $10 txt and a youth market to prey on. -Mind you, they have always had the mentality that the Youth today are the Business owners tomorrow... but number porting quashed this idea I reckon! haha

"Gourdie would not be drawn on the range of devices available on the new network other than to say Telecom "will have a stunning line-up of devices, some of them not seen in New Zealand, some of them world firsts".
"We'll be launching when the manufacturer launches. I think about half of them are exclusive to Telecom," he said.
Anyone with an Apple iPhone connected to Vodafone's network will be able to take it across to Telecom's network.
In addition to the iPhone, other 3G capable phones - including the Blackberry - connected to Vodafone will work on the new network as long as it is capable of connecting to a 850MHz network."
So does that mean we'll finally see phones in NZ at the same time as elsewhere and not delayed by 6-9 months? I hope so.
The iPhone and Blackberry are both US spec handsets and so are UMTS850 and 2100 capable though the BB does come in CDMA versions too. I wonder if Vodafone Group will insist on a UMTS900MHz version next time round seeing as this frequency has been given the go ahead for widespread adoption across Europe?
The world firsts, what will they be - Android and Symbian Foundation phones perhaps? I'm looking forward to getting a prepay SIM to do speedtests with.

Well looking at that ad, one will probably be the W995 which I look forward to seeing and am tempted to get for myself. That's really great news though, thanks carkitter. Sounds like we will be spoilt for choice in the future, rather than stuck on what to get as it has been in the past.
