If that article is true, expect the forever shrinking xperia market to continue to shrink. Price is shit with removed headphones jack, there is like zero reason anyone should even look at xperia phones anymore. 18:9 display is last year story, camera is the same old turd from last year model, I don't think Sony is even trying at this point. |

@joseph - that's what someone said based on their alleged insider.. *shrug*
@goldenface - i would say the reason is to open up more of the US market. they sell xperias here now but i think a lot of people get turned off by the fact there is no finger print scanner, even though it's just a matter of flashing a UK rom. most people don't want to deal with that though.
@moe - the article says nothing about the XZ2 having a FHD+ screen. it's only listed for the compact model. XZ2 will likely have 4K or at least QHD, i'm guessing.
gitaroo - so angry  just wait and see dude. everything is still just rumor!

If the latest info is true, then this is my guess:
- The site didn't tell us what XZ2 screen resolution is, but screen size is 5.7" / this matched the earlier rumor
- They said XZ2 Compact has 5" display with FHD+ resolution
- MY GUESS is that XZ2 will come with 4K resolution IPS LCD panel
- Then at IFA this year they probably introduce further improved phone which matched the 'pro' rumor |

I don't know what's the fuss about.. I mean why is Sony removing the headphone jack such a big deal.. Apple survived, didn't they?
And of course according to fcc documents, Sony will be introducing a splitter that would allow users to charge the phone and listen to music at the same time! So what's wrong people?
I just don't get you at all.. First you want design change.. When Sony finally did something, introduced something, you go all guns on them? Pathetic..
And as for my insider thing.. I am not Nodar ok.. My friend who works there told me that there won't be a pro.. Only two phones..one compact.. One regular..
So if you wanna believe me, believe me.. If not, ok fine, laugh at me.. But after the unveiling, I would be the one laughing..

moe - what's your point? my point is the swedish site didn't say anything in regards to the resolution of the xz2's screen. it only talked about the compact's.
madmiraj - didn't mean to imply you are nodar.. just that it's difficult to rely on any info from a new user account. it's too easy to just come on here, make an account and start saying things claiming to be from an insider. maybe you have legit info, maybe you don't. time will tell.

If it's only 2 phone (XZ2 and XZ2 compact) in MWC then the pro and/or premium will have a chance to be revealed in IFA.
Make sense for me.
But... if the XZ2 really has 5.7" what will be the size for pro and/or premium ?

The site did say 18:9 for both, for fhd+ its probably 2160x1080 for the compact and 2880x1440 for standard or the same as compact. If they announce a 4k phone I think it will be 16:9, 3840x2160 again. 4k is already niche enough. 18:9, 4320x2160 is very unlikely. |

I know I am a new guy. But believe me I have read most of the posts in this forum.. Just didn't open an account.. And as for my information, I got this from a very reliable person.. So hope that I am right..
The Swedish site's info is a bit surprising.. If the phone is that close for sale, then why hasn't it leaked yet.. I mean phones leak only when production starts, right? S9 has leaked because it's being produced, ready for the market.. And if we want to believe the Swedish site, then we must also acknowledge the fact that this time Sony didn't even spare the manufacturing facilities.. All are bound by NDA..
And again.. Pray tell, what's wrong with Sony's decision to remove the jack but actually not removing it?
Also.. I read the Swedish post.. They say something about arched back and softness.. So plate design confirmed? |
