Unfortunately, yes.
I'm campaigning against the increasingly screwed-up notion that is DST, and as well as a number of other issues. Vote for me in 2008!

BTW, why do Americans love Motorolas so much Cingular obviously has higher demand for Motos than . Case in point: the relatively ancient SLVR L7 is $100 w/2-year agreement, while the W810 is only $75 with the same contract.

Big welcome to our new American members - Woo Hoo. We could do with some new blood in this part of the forum.

I have recently noticed a push on quad band phones in the US. Especially the W810i which is getting good reviews all round. I wouldn't be surprised if a few more quad-band phones appeared this year, specifically for the US.

I wish their higher-end phones were quad-band, e.g. the K790a. (Hey, for the US, that's a pretty "high-end" phone!). But I agree, there are more quad-band phones now than ever Now, they just need to add dual-mode 3G - 850/1900 HSDPA for Cingular + 2100 WCDMA for the rest of the world.

And the K810 (K790/K800 successor) is already here, waiting in the wings...
Meanwhile, here's the cheapest I've found the K790a:

Nope, that price sounds about right. I got mine for U$419 from Amazon. A carrier picking it up would certainly drop the price to the 100s.
