Why do you bought your W960i then? Only for sms and calling? Then it's a very expensive choice. Battery life for me is one day (using gprs, sms, wifi, calling a lot etc.) P1i battery can do it. it will be tight but you can use P1i battery in your W960i. |

I'm in exactly the same position. I've had a k850i, an iPhone and a w960i in the past year, and I ONLY use SMS and calling. I have never even tried the camera on this phone. The only reason I get these phones, and I'm quite sure that others will be in the same position, is that I'm on a business package, and get a free phone upgrade to a top model every 4 months. But then again, I do spend upwards of £200 a month on calls and SMS.

Go here:

Language packs are at the bottom. Download the one that's compatable with the firmware on your phone

Congrats on the purchase. Look after the phone and you will enjoy it for a long time.
If you havent done so already. I would suggest you purchase some protection for you phone. www.PDair.com do some high quality leather cases for the 960. Have bought a few from there and they are extremely well made.
Or there's always the plastic or silicone type cases but make sure you use a screen protector with them as well

Those are the only language packs available atm. Might be worth emailing sony ericsson about it.

I'm not sure if Davinci might have firmware with the language pack you need. Might be worth having a look and reflash your phone with it.
Me present off peterkay (I did pay £20 for it ) came today. Put my W960 on it and sound good

I would need some help, the thing is, my w960 seems to loose connection to the gsm/3g once a day and to fix this after it happens is to restart it. It's very annoying because i miss alot of calls and sms.
Is anyone else having this problem?
I'm using the latest firmware.
Please some help! |

Whats your network ?
My girlfriends on Vodafone and her 3g/GPRS signal keeps going and the phone has to restarted to get it back but she can still make standard calls fine.
Mine works fine with my O2 Uk sim in but when my girlfriend put her sim card into mine she had the same problem as before.

well i'm in sweden so "Telia" but this isn't just the "data" connection it's calls and sms too! The thing is, if no one else have this problem then it's probably a technical fault but i tought it would be wise to check here before sending it away. |

Did a brief search...but where cn I get a list of changes incorporated into the various versions of W960 firmware? My current version is R9K009 I belive. Will a fw upgrade help me get rid of the white balance prob?(my pics are too yellowish and greenish, the blue component is laclking)
Also, do I need to backup everythg? What abt installed apps?

I am having the same problem. No matter how hard i tried to find a way to fix it just keeps hapening. I even tried a different SIM card. It happened less often but still it happened. It's very frustrating since it shows that it has full network and signal but in fact you don't get any calls or sms neither you can do. On;y way to fix it is to restart the phone. I am having too the latest firmware and keep in mind that this BUG exists from the p990 saga. I dn't thing they have tried to fix it since it happens on few phones and network use and conditions play a big role.
Something else to note to you is that on my primary network (and thus sim) it hanged about once a day and some times even every 5 minutes!!! No programs running other than contacts, messaging and the walkman application. I even selected ONLY GSM network but stil it crashed.
On the second sim (Which is brand new and it's 32KB in size) it happened much less often but still it happened every 1-2 days. From the search i have done i wasn't able to figure out if it's a software or hardware bug. I have this phone about three months. I'm totaly sick of the number of cold rests i had to do to this phone. I'm totaly dissatisfied of this phone. My previous phone was a K750 , i had it for 3 years, i had no problems with it, i could even have it open for a month with no crashes i was totaly satisfied with it.
Tommorow i am going to sell my W960 and switch back to K750 untill i find another smartphone to replace the W960 , probably a Windows Mobile PDA... |
