As you like so much BlueJacking stories,I'll tell you mine.I don't know if it's bluejacking,but you'll say.BTW in Bulgaria there are no very much places for BlueJacking.The chance to see somebody with swithed on BT is insignificant.So yesterday I was in 'Hilton' to a business appointment and about the half of the appointment it became boring,I hasn't what to do and I remembered the bluejacking stories from this post,and I decided to make a BT discovery with my FS Pocket Loox.I knew that most of the interlocutors have BT phones.And for my luck one 6310i has its BT turned on.Then I quickly made a new internet connection with BT modem 6310i.Then I log on and went to some sites for pay downloads.I click on pay by phone and I've downloaded many cool things for my PDA and T610.I spent about 1 hour in the net,but at one time I went sorry for that and I disconnected.That was my first BlueJacQ.It was very cool.I'd like to know the countenance of his face when he recieve his bill.

As I was in town this morning, I thought I'd do a bit of bluejacking.
I'm not sure if I've succeeded or not. At various places in town, particulary in the vicinity of a mobile phone shop, I sent my contact but there were no devices to be found
It wasn't until I was outside the Vodafone store that I saw a single T610 listed. Yipee! I thought. So, I sent off my contact: "Greetings from *Heaven*" and looked around with my eyes and ears open. I heard nothing but I did see a middle aged couple huddled over a phone; the woman shrugged. They didn't seem particularly perturbed. They moved so I followed, convinced they were my target. I tried to send them another message saying "Nice Phone" as it was a fellow Sony Ericsson handset. My phone indicated the connection had failed.
I couldn't follow them for too long as it was heavily raining and I was trying to bluejack whilst pushing my son in his wheelchair - not an easy task! So, I went back to my place outside Vodafone where I'd agreed to meet my husband and youngest son as we'd deliberately separated to do our own shopping.
While I was waiting, I thought I'd try another bluejack and the T610 was still on my screen. I concluded that I'd made a mistake assuming the couple to be my target. I reasoned that the T610 must be in the Vodafone shop. So I tried to send a message... I actually sent many but each time it my phone would say, "Connection Failed". I couldn't figure out why.
I'm wondering now if phones that were in range are still listed? If so, when does the image disappear?
I'm at home now - obviously as I'm typing this post - and because I live on a main road, which, during rush hour has long queues outside my house, I try a bluejack during those times. That T610 is still listed on my handset and my phone still says "Connection Failed" when I've tried to send a contact. If anyone has any idea why this happens, please let me know.
You know what I'm thinking now though? That I did successfully bluejack that couple with the T610. What do you think?
Thanks for reading.

@hacker
With all respect but how could you just use that 6310i as a modem without 'pairing' with it and without knowing the 'passkey'. I assume he has to key in the pass key to pair the two devices.
Knowledge is two fold. Knowing a subject or knowing where to find out about a subject. I rely on both... That is why I come here. |

Heads up mates... Looks like some folks are planning a type of bluejacking even more nefarious than our "just for laughs" ideal:

Hey, they might even have the tool already to do it (sman)
The authors email address is at the bottom of the page, might as well let him know what you think, good or bad?

I have paired my phone and PDA many times with this person,he is my colleague.And it doesn't want a passkey again.Most of the people have their passkey.

Here's another idea, create a group in your phone (EG Brick user messages!) Then create a load of different contacts with different offensive names! Sure it takes up memory but it saves so much time! |

This is more specifically targeted at the US/North America crowd:
there IS hope for us.
Today I was in the mall by myself doing some winter clothing shopping (although now that I think of it, yesterday would have been a good day to camp out for some bluejacking-- biggest shopping day of the year!). Anyway, with no companion to talk to whilst walking around, I was constantly doing bluetooth scans from my T610...
I have a contact called *Hey, YOU SUCK!* email: you.have.been.BLUEJACKED
Up arrow, More, 4, 3...scanning.
Non-stop I kept scanning and scanning, hoping something would pick up. Then I got on an escalator, set up another scan and put my phone down to my side [to smile at some pretty girls passing by the other direction giving me the eye ] So I get to the top, and I walk 10 ft and realize to look at my display again. BINGO! Some unk. device showed up and I tried to send but it was too late
I missed my first catch!
So then I later made my way to the food court, stood on the outer edges of where all the people sit to eat, and did a scan. 3 devices showed up! The first one showed up as a Nokia hehe! I think the model was 3650 [I know it had a 3 in it, I had to look at the nokia site of bluetooth phones to make me remember], and I sent it! Unfortunately there were tons of people and I couldnt see who it was with the phone, and by the time I got back in to send off another, the other phones were no longer listing I stood still and tried for a good 5 minutes...
then I was walking by the Software Etc. store and went inside to just look around. I saw a display for the crappy Ngage, but seconds before set out a bluetooth scan and selected some weird mystery device whos name wasnt showing. I looked at one of the 2 ngages on display... "Accept message from Matthew T610?" heh, I selected yes, "Hey, YOU SUCK!"
hah, classic. Then I changed the BT device names on both Ngages to Ngage sucks and Nokia sucks, and as some kid walked up to the other Ngage I left the store and sent off another contact to the phone the kid was using.
Excellent!
but this is a glimmer of hope in an otherwise pessimistic American's eyes... we have a chance guys! Try the food courts in the mall!
But surprisingly, at the beginning of Oct. I was at Hartsfield Intl. Airport here in Atlanta GA with my T68i and I didnt find a single bluetooth device. I was hoping some fancypants businessman would have a nice Bluetooth phone.
I even scanned from my iPaq 3970 Pocket PC, nada.
What a damn shame, a 17-year old having nicer, more expensive toys than every person in an international airport...

You'll find thats what a lot of people already do- including myself. And by brick, do you mean the p800? Because its certainly bigger than the 7650!!
@matthewf01:
Well arent you a Nokia hater! Idiot....
Yet, if you put a logo on those Nokia phones, you SE fans would love them!! Unbelievable.

Oh yeah- a T610 certainly puts all those other devices to shame.
I am so jealous...You're wacked!
