@mwarner
Probably the second bug about the size of applications is CDA dependant. I use R1ED001 CDA 102568/4 R4A and I have all the informations about the file size of applications. For example for Opera Mini it shows 275 Kb. So I don't have that bug. Change the information on the first page please!
Thanks! |

I've read the last 70 pages of this thread *whew!!* and have decided to update and unbrand via WOTAN. I'm just trying to decide which firmware to go with. The latest one R1EJ001 doesn't have the UK/Europe as a CDA option in the WOTAN client, but the previous version R1EG001 does.
I've read in the last couple pages that the new update (R1EJ001) improves a few things - i'm especially interested in any improvement in camera quality - but is it important if there is no support/mention for the UK/Europe in CDA? Or doesn't it matter?
Also, am i right in saying that from now on i can update through SEUS and not WOTAN client? Am i being stupid? (Am i asking too many questions? ) lol.
Cheers in advance. |

As far as I can remember, MegaBass was introduced by Sony in their Walkman's while they still used to play C-60 compact cassettes. In those, there was no firmware at all. Instead, Megabass was a special electronic circuit design, mainly consisting of a large capacitor holding the extra charge needed to boost the bass beats and increase the voltage over the output transistors in the amplifier. Maybe, the K800 is built on a platform that actually has this circuit design onboard, to be used in a possible future -equivalent of the K800i, but that is disabled by the current K800 firmware. In that case, it might be possible to enable Megabass by firmware, like converting a K750 to a W800 by firmware change, but I don't think that this is a method that ever wil lbe supported by . They would probably want you to buy the model instead.

thanks for the info. By the way, there is no need converting a K750 to a W800 by firmware. The original K750i firmware from SEUS is come with Megabass. Since K800i is consider an upgrade from K750, it should remain it. Just hope the next K800 firmware will include Megabass. |

I don't think it will incude MB, as it's a Walkman feature and not a Cyber-Shot...but you never know

I've found a bug in R1CB001. Please somebody verify! Is it corrected?
If I put this phone number (309555...) in the contact list, not in the SIM but the phone memory, the Name of the contact is not displayed in the call List and when Incoming calls or SMS.. just like if it was a new number...
If I change the "30" in the beginning of the number to any other number (eg 20) it works perfectly....
The problem persists if I store the number in the format +3630309555...
+36 is the country code, the first 30 is the area code...
My area (operator) code is 30... I think this is the cause....
If it works for you please try with a number what starts with your area code!
It is very annoying because i don't know the caller only from his number..
Thanks
Edit:
Strange... If I copy the contact to the SIM it works!

Long-time listener, first time caller, as they say...
Firmware R1EG001 (UK):
BUG: The phone keeps forgetting the shortcut for pushing the joystick to the right. Despite assigning it numerous times, after a short while the phone forgets it. This bug has been present for several firmwares now.
But I'm very impressed with R1EG001 overall! Lots of nice changes and bug-fixes.
Steve.

Ok, as no-one is online or can give me any advice, i decided to go for R1EJ001, but was almost through the first time when i was disconnected from the server for some reason. I tried again, but now all i'm getting is 'can't reach server'. My internect connection is fine (everything else is working fine) so i know it's not that.
My phone is a brick at the moment, and i'm losing my internet connection tonight - i need to get this sorted out.
Any advice?
**************
edit - all sorted now. there was a problem with the server, that all.
R1EJ001 is great, but my animated themes seem to be running quite slow.....

I have the exact same problem too, though the phone number is different. The bug has been fixed by updating the firmware and erom |

@feelisme: There are lots of other reasons though: flight mode, better mp3 player, etc

@maldus:
Did you update yours to R1EG001 by using SEUS? We're talking about K800. Are you sure with what you said? What's your phone? K790 or K800?

I haven't 'spotted' any myself, but I was referring to the list on the first page of this thread. The battery indicator on the file transfer screen is one of the most useful improvements, IMHO. |
