Guys,i sent e-mail at Sony Ericsson Greece asking them if it's true that a new software version named R3M008 is out & if this new software version will support MS Pro Duo!& their reply amazed me!(lol)They only said that the latest software is R3K & that S700i supports only MS Duo up to 128 MB!I have never heard those things before!!(lol!)

@poutsaras

The s700i will never support MS Duo Pro. Hardware issue, thus dead issue. The next generations of SE phones will have it and the new f/w will be released next week. Went to SE today and they did not have it. Also, can we stick to rebooting issues in this thread and not derail it?

Hey Brooks,

If I was wrong, please correct this. I thought that the readers in the s700i could not operate in parallel, but in serial. If this is incorrect, then maybe the s700i with a software hack, will read the larger MS Duo Pro's.

Sorry i had a fair few beers when i wrote that . But i do have it on very good authority that this is software issue in that a full OSE drivr rewrite is needed only. but i very much doubt anyone will do this

No offense taken mate. Just wondering. I have heard stories that it is possible, or it isn't. I could not really care less. I have a brand new z800 coming next week and will slide in a nice blue MS Duo Pro.

I sent again a mail at SE customer care service in Greece & asked them the very same question:is it true that a new software version is about to come out to solve the rebooting issue & also is out a software version named R3M008?Besides,they were very rude!They wrote that for the hundredth time,they replied to me that the latest software version is R3K & that there's no info in a newer software!By the way,i have the rebooting problem the most times i have my phone in metallic surfaces,such us my stereo syst

It's unbelievable!S700i is one of the best models of Sony Ericsson & one of the best generally!But its' software is awful!Why they don't bother to upgrade its' software from the moment that there's a problem?This rebooting issue is about 3,5 months old & still didn't solve it!But,if we believe that the didn't notice that problem there are also a lot of other problems!From the fact that S700i was out late,they must've been implemented the behaviour of latest software of K700i,in terms of functionality!

Poutsaras, I think that this is not a software error but a hardware and will never solve.

By the way, I tried too, putting my phone on a metallic surface and goes crazy. Ringing with other ringtone at begining, then stopped ringing, blue screen, black and red lines blinking and then restart without asking for PIN.
