R1X?
The firmware listed under V800 is R1X011 and the firmware listed under Z800 is R1X016. Isn't the R1X011 V800 firmware?

I just got V802 (I do not speak Japanese)- I have setool COM version... I heard Z800 rx1011 is buggy...
What firmware should I upgrade to in order to unblock mp3's and debrand vodaphone?
And anyone know when COM version z800 firmware is coming out?!
THANKS ! |

To the best of my knowledge R1X011 is Z800 firmware (non vodafone).
V800 (vodafone) software is R1J.

why don't you start on page one of this thread mate?
and no, unbranding does not unlock. That's two separate actions.

Is it possible to upgrade my V800 with a Z800-dictonary? I desperately need a Norwegian dictionary. I am tired of writing Swedish, even though I love the language.

R1X011 IS NOT Z800 firmware but unofficial V800 firmware.
This one is the only undbranded firmware for v800
R1X016 / 19 / .. are closer to commercial z800 as there are not directly compatible (even if there is some ways to do it...)

Does anyone know why SEtool have suspended the selling of credits? Are they pulling the service (unlikely as they have just updated thier web page) of just sticking to the stand alone version.....
What a shame....what are we gonna do in the future |

it would seem that standalone is going to be only option going forward.
so we have to pay $199 to update our phones, or physically ship them to a reseller that will do updates.
Shipping will cost as much as update ! |

I guess there are others out there with similar apps...Da vinci is meant to be popular, but SEtools was the best!

Don't all hit me at once but what's so wrong with Vodafone?
I'm wanting a v800 but all this talk of updating the firmware to z800 is making me wonder... What's so wrong with Voda?
I don't want to wait x amount of time to get the z800 and unbranding a v800 sounds more hassle than it's worth...I might just go for a Sharp 902 LoL

Nope, I just don't see the need to upgrade... It's just a load of messing about really.... If anything, unbranding can cause problems from what I can see.. Oh some issues can be fixed with scripts it looks like, but seriously, why bother... If I get the v800 it's gonna stay v800..So what if it doesn't have 'generic' icons. Who wants generic.
I do however want a phone that I know will work with everything....Like sync'ing, propper 3G browsing, no popping sound on speakers, working bluetooth etc...I don't want bugs.
You guys must like the challenge.....
Sorry for this rant, but when I see a poster saying, for example, 'I finally got rid of that voda crap'.. Really does make me laugh... Why is is it crap? I've read through this thread and all I've seen are questions upon questions on, 'how do I debrand'..And a lot of problems people are having after the 'debranding' (not upgrading, debranding...That's all it is)...
So again I'll ask....What's so wrong with Vodafone? Why go to these lengths? Is it mainly just to change the 'look'?
I did see a couple of people ask about how they can play MP3's as ringtones and is debranding the only way to do this... But no one answered this question I don't think... I would be inclined to ask Vodafone if they plan to have it work in the future...
