it does seem like, its just a 'jumped up' K700.
Nice spec. saves carrying a separate camera around, say on hol.
but i'd bet money, its limited to 128MS DUO.

The s700 didnt have it, they bought the S710 with EDGE. same can happen here. Btw, lots of networks here with EDGE. So expecting EDGE cannot be neglected. If they have made so many changes, there is a reasonable chance that it has EDGE. Right? Or am i being stupid?

they will most likely only include EDGE if the phone is destined for a market that has EDGE. The S710a is for the americas where EDGE is available

IMHO I very much doubt that the phone we are seeing in the last pictures posted has the final production finish on it, the mem stick duo cover looks like pre-production tooling has been used to produce this part ? Also the quickshare sticker isn't really a flush finish. Only a couple of minor points but I wouldn't be supprised if it looks a little different when released.

I totally agree, the sides will most definately be black, also there isn't the prominant ridges in the pre-production model picture as previous pictures.
I have a feeling the black, might be matt black finish 
also have any of you, thought about the two LED lights at the top being a true flash element?
what buttons are on the otherside, as you can see the right side(from the front), top, but not left side and all of bottom

Lets hope that the posters who assume it is an unfinished pre-production model are right.
EDGE: Not much point in installing technology that can not be used. In countries where 3G is rolled out there is no place for EDGE. |

But there are countries where EDGE is a rage. (India for eg) I would be disappointed if a version with EDGE doesn't materialise.

@Whizzkid, They probably will, having rebadged as K750a for the Asian market.
When the S700i was rebadged as S710a for North America and Edge, didn't it lose some features such as the radio?

It's quite common when producing a pre-production model not to commit wherever possible to full blown production tooling to keep costs down until the design is finalised and signed off.
I have had mouldings produced in the past for pre-production purposes whereby the colour is indicative only (usually what is in stock with the suppliers to keep costs down at that stage in the project).
I this case I could be wrong of course but as I mentioned previously IMHO I can't see this being the finished article.

Change SMS-tone to a MP3? Yes.
Removable battery? Yes. Remove the little bottom cover, drag out the battery. There's also the SIM.
Is it a button between the two "-"-buttons? Yes.
New Connector? Yes.
Are the pictures of real, final retail product? No, prototype.
Symbian? No, it's an updated K700.
Different colors? Well, I think you will like the color of one exclusive to one of the biggest operators in the world.
Maybe You'll all see it in a week...  |
