the cookies are enabled in opera so technically it should work right but it doesnt.its really frustrating.if the cookies worked then if im not mistaken it will be having free full GPRS settings except that instant messengers cant be accssed. rite?

I don't know the setting for the full GPRS access but for normal pay&go GPRS access and free GPRS access you have to use proxy. I think because of that the opera or other programs can't save cookies to their own memory, so when you try to ue cookies it is crushing.

the cookie feature is working in Opera, it's just not working because of proxy stuff. If you ask where I know that it's working, while I was in turkey 2 months ago, the cookies were working perfectly.

Every site was working. Any one of them. I was reading email from yahoo, loging in esato. And for example I tried a site yesterday www.audi.com.tr the Turkish site of audi(I was looking price of A4 cabrio ) and the first page didn't open. I remember it was opened when I was in Turkey.
I don't remember other examples now but there were lot's of them.

Yeah, hotmail worked (badly formatted for the phone, but worked) and Esato kept me logged in, so that was good.
Oh and Mack8y, you're welcome buddy. Enjoy it!

Hi everyone,
Is anyone having problems with their free GPRS??
I was surf happy last night but today all I get is the 'Activation rejected' message if I try to connect using the normal p900 t'internet option and if I use Opera it tells me I've connected and the little globes doing it's thing but it just sits on the Opera page and doesn't go to the site requested???!!!
It's really annoying, does anyone have a solution???

Stop the press!!!
I fixed it, if anyone else has this problems then you'll need to reconfiger your proxy setting in Opera to match the settings in the control panel.
Cheers

I think I may have a SIM thats too old? I have had this PAYG SIM for about 2 years now so I'm not sure if thats causeing the problem. I use the exact settings described her but whenever I try to connect I get the message "access denied" and I can get no further. I get the same message in the default browser and with Opera [and yes i do use the proxy settings correctly].
Any ideas? |

Odd. Built-in browser works fine but nothing else does including Opera with proxy set - so what's wrong? Is it "WIM"?
I'm on Tesco which is O2 and using similar settings.
I'll try my O2 simcard later. |

@Evil_d
Contact o2 and check whether GPRS is enabled on your account.maybe thats the problem.

Close opera and built in internet browser and disconnect all connections (GPRS and dialup) then start opera (make sure you have set the proxy settings of opera to be the same as the proxy server [shown on page 1 of this discussion] and proxy port [8080]) then try to open a site and let opera do the connection to the free gprs settings and it should work
