When I click flash for the first step (use the K700_Decustomise_Firmware.K7S) It says 'Press on in the phone! I have turned it on without the simcard in and it hasnt moved since. What do you think the problem is?

Hi Guys,
I'm new to this forum.
I have been following the K700i de-branding with interest.I have brought the cable and now seem to have got stuck. On the computer end of the cable there is a 9 pin female plug and on my laptop the only connectors I have are a 25 pin printer female socket and a 15 pin monitor socket as well as 3 usb.....
Can anyone advise on what options I have?..

Hi im a newbie in this forum so don't judge me to harshly and am really interested about the debranding of the K700i.

I live in Australia and would like to hear from other people from Australia who have debranded vodafone's SE K700i's using this process. All success and unsuccessful stories would be appreciated. Also what firmware files exactly were used to debrand the phone.

I know this might be a stupid question but what data exactly does this process erase from the fone (excluding the obvious= old firmware) does this affect like the java games that are on the fone?

Guys,

For the people whose Total Server client get stuck on "Press On on your Phone" message, and are doing the update via T28 cable, abort the process, DISCONNECT YOUR DSS-25 from your USB port, then try again. This happened to me last night as well. I think the DSS-25 took over the serial com port's IRQ or something.

Ok, my cable has arrived. Now, which firmware would be the best to use. Everyone seems to be using R2L001 but what about the new R2AA003, is there something wrong with this one?

I have successfully decustomised my K700i. I used the R2L firmware mate. Don't think there really is much difference between the two. I chose R2L because I know that is stable.

This seems to be more than a one-off problem becuase exactly the same error has happened to me, while decustomising a Vodafone K700i and flashing the R2L001 firmware.

I was using v1.26 of multiserver..(the newest as of yesterday

Update: Faceoffmobiles gave me another credit and I tried again using 1.27 (and chose the R2AA003 f/w). It worked perfectly so I'm dead chuffed.

Just flashed my phone and I have got to say, the R2L firmware is fantastic! The menu speed is very cool, although does get stuck a lot. I ended up using the firmwares that iamcrunchie posted, they seem to do the trick nicely.

Any news on DSS-2x support yet?

those errors were due to a bug in an earlier version of multiserver. make sure you press info to update the client to latest (1.27)

when it gives an error make sure you take a screenshot so you can send to whoever you bought credit off and get it put back.

Is it just me or r2l, but when I have left my phone for 5-10 minutes and go back to it and when I press a button to get the light back on theres a white screen for about 2 seconds? Anyone else get this problem?
