s 700 is a cool mobile phone unit wid 1.3 mgapixel plus 8 times zoom it is worth to have this model which will be release in the 4th quarter of 2004.. another cool feature is having a 262 k tft display .. in this model i feel that nokia will look to match this unit... se adapted the feature from one of their model ...
k700 is also one of the best the se will have coz this is first se model wid built fm radio 32 mb storage 65 k tft and 4x zoom . this is the successor of t610 and t630 ... available on 2nd quarter of 2004.
having both of these two models u can laugh now to all the nokia usaers.... sony ericsson the best |

hmmmm now I'm thinking if I'm willing to sacrifice my touchscreen, pda features, and symbian apps and take this lovely beast home to papa.lol
Is p900 to s700 a downgrade?

I await the next wave of Nokia phones....I wonder what they will be like...possibly a different colour cover for the same skelton of phone..AGAIN!?!?! LOL!!!
I really see taking Nokia's crown this year for once and for all! Good on
I dont think S700 is an upgrade to the P900...but meerly a more multi-media orientated alternative. The P900 is business based...dont think TOO many of it's featurees have been incorporated into the S700 imho.

I agree. It's has better multimedia features than P900. But it doesn't mean it's the top of the line phone. The price would determine that
Can't wait to see the actual unit so I'd know what the final line up of application s700 would have.
What OS is the s700 running? |

1 big question right here!
Can we update the firmwares by downloading of the internet and do so like the p900?! It will be a major dissapointment if we cant but not going to stop me from buying it! Lets hope they do!
And another thing to hope for. That this thing slims down a tiny bit. Yet another thing that wont stop me from buying it. But it would be more convinient. |

FlyingFinn and SuperG's half assed attempts at promoting an uninteresting technology as the downfall of SE is amusing at best. You should in fact applaud SE, because they deliver what the public wants, something Nokia used to be the master of, but has failed miserably with the least few years.

I have nothing against SE and I might well buy the K700 when it comes out.
The reason why I like EDGE is NOT BECAUSE NOKIA PHONES HAVE IT but because I can use both GPRS and EDGE in Finland and I damn rather use EDGE because it's faster!
You just wait and see what exactly the Nokia / TeliaSonera deal will include.
And whoever said the 7600 is a bad 3G phone... didn't they hear the news it's one of the best selling ones though? Despite not being offered by any 3G operator.
Back on topic.

A couple of the S700's features haven't been clearly verified in the press release, although some of the previews "claim" it supports them:
1) What's the resoloution of the video clips recorded by the S700? Is there a time limit, or is it only limited by storage space (like Sony's latest Cybershot cameras).
2) Does the S700 support MP3 ringtones? I don't know about the K700 either, but according to SE's CeBIT 2004 site, the Z500 can use MP3s as ringtones.
3) Does the S700 have a loud speaker? The S700's pictures of the back show what looks like a speaker, but can it be used to play MP3s like the K700?
4) What does the S700's head-set look like? Is it like the SO505iS's head-set with a remote similar to a Sony MD palyer's?
I personaly like the original Japanese SO505iS design. The Japanese are lucky to have two varients, the sporty SO505iS which comes in black, red, and navy blue and the elegent SO505i which is silver. |

that doesn't mean it's a good phone.....
7600 is not a bad phone but it is a bad 3g phone, it doesn't have the MAIN things that a 3g phone would need:
a: umts / yes
b: video conferences/ no
c:large screen/ no
d:large memory/ no
the main thing about 3g is video and pictures and sound and that's where 7600 sucks big time, the screen is just too small for videos (by pixels), and it doesn't have enough memory either
nokia did this phone just to have some early sales but in reality it isn't anything special....

We're way off topic as usual, but I wouldn't say the 7600 has small memory, it's jsut that it's not expandable. |
