Hey guys,
seems, we all think the same, of the both mobiles, wether it is candybar or a slider.
Design, funktions and OS is Nokia. And Nokia is sucking... Please don't copy.
But this is the story. Management is setting all devisions under pressure, cuttung costs, using same plattform for multiple handsets with minor changes in design. This is not the success story.
Please be so strong strategic Product management and don't go public with these handsets.
design is not SE, it is too usual, nothing special and it copies Nokia
OS is old fashioned in design of user interface
Please don't stop being innovative!
We will see ......
______________________________
It is a typical copy from the Nokia mobile. Really very bad SE. You did the X10, which is really a wonder. But, please go away from the bad symbian shit. Or use symbian, but please develop an user friendly interface....
Every time the same story.
SE becoming ill or inefficent
Then SE brings a very nice handset and after that SE is going back and getting ill again. Poor employes. Bad management! |

At first the changed the UI ( from 2 softkeys to 3 ), that they changed the keyboard layout ( *, 0, # ) and now the design of the phones. With other words - nowadays the SE phones are actually Nokia phones under cover. Why don't SE and Nokia merge?
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand... Mediar's Site |

For the past three years we have had several phones announced around this time. Can anyone confirm if SE will be exhibiting at CES this year?

Only thing I know for sure is Sony Ericsson will be at the Sony Booth in Las Vegas. Don't know if there are any product announcements though. |

I don't think they will announce anything at the show, some lower end stuff could appear though. A bit off topic but Samsung at CES have a PMP with a transparent screen like the Pureness but in colour. A few reports say that it is a touch screen but I don't know for sure. Its called the Samsung IceTouch. Is it fair to assume that the next Pureness will have a colour screen and even a touch screen? Are Samsung releasing a transparent touch screen phone of their own? You have got to love the progression of technology.
A lot of people are being a bit rough on Kanna. Its actually a fine piece of kit. All Symbian touch phones have the same UI, you pay 500 squid for a Omnia HD and you get the same thing so what can you do? It makes you wonder if each company is allowed to change anything apart from the home screen. A bit of UIQ on this type of hardware would be pretty awesome, it would be something different that people have been looking for and unique to and in such a climate, an interesting option. |

I would be careful about mentioning Motorola. Their sales of the Droid/Milestone have been quite impressive.
While I personally have a strong dislike for Symbian, for the average consumer, it really doesn't matter what operating system the phone uses. They are just concerned about gimicky features and I think this device has it all. Sony Ericsson seems to have taken an interesting step of offering one phone in two versions, reaching out to as much of the market as possible. Coupling this with a fair price, this could be successful even with Symbian. |

From that standpoint sure, no one will have complaints. From the other one though, people here with trouble on the Satio, will know or at least think, to stay away from this. |

I know it's a little off-topic but I can see a lot of people saying Samsung's offering is such an innovation and amazing. The very same people that thought the Pureness is/was crap will suddenly be singing Samsung praises.
Funny that.

i really don't understand why se can release the pureness for the masses
or is that production failure-rate for the display so high, that mass production is simply not possible ?

^ I thought Pureness was not for the masses because its an expensive phone (not to mention the concierge service).
Back on topic - Any news of a K810 successor, i.e. Cyber-shot with Xenon flash in a candy bar form factor (with Wi-Fi & GPS of course). |
