Your Ultra Clear V1 is quite good yet not very comfortable for listening to music for a long time. Dare I ask if you can mod it to make it sound more natural? (By not boosting the high frequencies). Thanks in advance.

Yes,working on it

Our phones do all have equalizers, yes? So why not use the (manual) equalizer to compensate.
I like the trebbles in Ultra Clear, but if they're too noisy, I use the equalizer. Also with basses. I have very different kinds and ages of music in my phone, and there's just not one equalizer setting that's good for all music.
And again, to get a better range for the equalizer, a higher volume output would be great, so not just for loudness and also for boosting the oldies.
Idea for new SE mediaplayers: allow saving of favorite equalizer settings per album (or even song). So when I play an album, mediaplayer will use the settings I chose before. A simple software matter I guess.
@ Sowbran, what about getting a better headset. Unless you screw them thight into your ears (like HPM-82, very uncomfortable to me), HPM-70 has very low volume and lacks bass. I got a HPM-85 recently and it sounds so much better and louder (but not as clear as my Sennheiser, too bad this Senn is not loud enough with C702).

Is there any way to get a better quality, fuller sound from the loudspeaker of the w910i?
I have no experience modifying acoustics myself but any help would be appreciated

I'm using W910i now. I had just modded the acoustic driver from the original acoustic to " W910 with luhccas w980 accoustics ". Yes, there will be hissing sound that is really annoying me. But i like the loud ringtone & speaker volume level. When people are calling me, I didnt notice it at all ... i missed some important calls and thus making me wanna increase the ringtone volume.

Overall, this acoustic driver is good in everything, except the hissing sound.

I had the same issue aswell my C702 couldn't power my Cx-300's i was using a hpm-77, I made my own acoustics so it does now and megabass has got the mega back.

The hissing is most probley due to level of volume & the drc data.

I tried to switch off the volume to 0. But the hissing sound still exists. I think its not the problem of the hissing sound when playing the song. But its like some kind of background interference.

I have a small request here.

Is it possible to just mod my w910i's acoustics file :

1.) To increase the loudness of the front speaker only. Which means it doesnt affect the loudness of the music when played, but increase the volume of the sound when talking to people on the phone.

2.)To increase the ringing volume when my phone rings, but doesnt affect the volume of the music player.

Its because I really dont like the hissing sound when I'm listening to music.
Anyone can tell me which file to be pasted inside the acoustics file to do the job as above ?

Or can someone create a package of the driver files for w910i so that it will be much easier for newbie like me to mod our phone. Thanks alot.

Overall, I just want to mod my phone driver so that the ringing tone volume can be increased & the front speaker sound louder. Thats all, & I want to use the original acoustics of music player for w910i. I'm fine with the music on original driver.

Well, guys, reading the posts about the hiss effect in sound, and in particular in the Walkman - the headset, I tried to pick one issue to obtain a loud (again...... and again...... and again volume......) and a quality driver.

And for that I pick up the W980's acoustic that claim to be the best in sound quality.
So, all PHF_Plays were edited and got a top driver, with serious deep bass in the first level of volume.

By the time: the sound is very clear WITHOUT EQUALIZATION.

If equalize the hiss effect is strong, since the driver is very loud.

Whatever, this is my attempt. Have fun!

Gday all.
all this playing around with the FS folder is really teaching me alot about phone files.

I downloaded the files for the acoustics titled "Ultra_clear v1(acoustics for all db3150)". The files were called

PHF_play.wbxml
PHF_2_play.wbxml
PHF_3_play.wbxml
PHF_4_play.wbxml

in the ifs/settings/acoustics folder, there were the same PHF files in there but instead of being PHF_2play.wbxml, they had the same prefix PHF_2 but there were other files with "play", "call". i take it these are different files for playing music, taking calls etc.

I deleted the files PHF_play.wbxml and the other 3, started my phone up and tried calling my phone to see if it would still ring, which it did, the walkman still worked.

i loaded the new files and everything worked as it was.

Can i rename the files from _play to Call or isn't it that simple? Basically, when somebody calls, i want the ringtone to be louder. I work in a noisy environment and i miss may calls because of the volume.

Thanks
