It won't be my main browser just because battery and data drain, it reeeeally sucks MB's!
Actually, with 3G coverage, with my use of browsers (10, 15 times a day??) the best choice is still 8.65 in mobile mode! The best font look and so much text on screen.

Still finding 9.5 good. Kinetic scrolling not up to iphone standards gets better as you use it (delicately) but have a problem. My bookmarks is filled with multiple (maybe hundreds) of Home Pages that I cannot delete?

Help anyone? Can I do this from the PC?

Well, one way to go about it is to synch the bookmarks with the PC, delete the unwanted ones on your PC and re-synch to overwrite bookmarks on Opera

not a big deal .... just mark with your stylus what you want to delete first !and klik on more and then delete .... you can also mark them all by pushing more >mark all >more > delete .... just like your sms messages

@pt020

You should have a closer look at the screenshot.

You can't delete predefined bookmarks like home page, sony ericsson, etc.

@Myth®

Correct it is the Opera Home Page. But why i am getting so many of them? Can't delete them from Opera 8.65 either - they seem to share the same bookmarks folder. And I know I have asked this before but any ideas which folder they are stored in. Had good luck through and nothing obvious - is it likely to be a hidden file?

Thanks MnM

Also i'm looking into the location of the central bookmark file, hopefully i will be able to tell you where its located

*edit* found it, the central bookmarking file is kept here
\Private\10202be9\persists\10205afa.cre
deleting that would remove all bookmarks

---
However there are some major issues, number one is the ram usage, far too high in my opinion.

Yep this version was never designed for UIQ3.0 phones.

On the same note, links seem very difficult to open, you have to sort of move your finger to the link, and press it a couple of times and hope it opens up.

This will be sorted

it won't be taking opera mini's place just yet.

*In my opinion* None of the mobile browsers take the place of mini, not yet anyway!

I've been checking out some new widgets over the past couple of days. Does anyone have a favorite widget that's highly recommended? I have all the usual suspects - facebook, Youtube, twitter etc. along with FeedingTime (RSS reader), SimpleClock, ScientificCalculator, Accuweather etc.

Has anyone tried the BitTorrent widget?? I've been using SymTorrent on my N95 for the past couple of months and would love to have something similar on the P1i.

Generally widget query if I may? What is the point of ones like wikipedia and answers.com. Are there any benefits over just having a bookmark in your browser? Or perhaps am I, and not for the first time, being dumb?

There are some, bandwidth for example, the images scripts and html used in the widget are all local. When you search for somethink on wikipedia it just fetches the results rather than the entire page.

Its also slightly more convient than a bookmark because you dont have to wait for the page to load..

but yes, the benefit of certain 'webpage' widgets are small. These are still the first generation of widgets though, we've been working closely with some operators like t-mobile to provide widget solutions for them, and i think widgets hold a lot of promise in the future!

p.s. flash will be fixed.

@soulsurfer, great to know flash will be fixed!

also, i am really expecting what comes in terms of widgets...some of the existing are really awesome, like the twitter one and the accuweather one...they do avoid the necessety of using the browser at all

however...i think you guys need really to improve two things: RAM usage, and speed...look at the new Ozone browser...it completely trumps opera (and @web) in terms of speed

Yeah the more we looked at it, the more impossible it seems, we tried every work around in the book. I just dont think its possible to deliver something stable using opengl, uiq3.0 and switching orientations.
