Hi,
I have the i8510 for about a week now. I'm finding it really weird to read these remarks about a slow camera, it really isn't slow at all.
I'm coming from a 1st generation N95, and the samsung's camera function is quicker in every respect than the N95.
It is ready to take a picture quicker
It takes the picture quicker
It processes and makes the picture available to be viewed quicker.
The 3 position slider on the side of the phone is a great idea. One is still camera, one is video camera, one is view pictures. Select the correct option and press the shutter button and you are there.

So can you concur with tangey with regards to the camera speed?

I must say that I'm actually impressed with Samsung for the first time ever. Been reading up on this phone and it is impressive- better camera, the best music phone thus far and superior build quality. Add to that its smartphone capabilities and you've got a winner. Wow!

Hey bud, congrats Can you confirm the auto focus while video recording? And is the video recorded picture better then the N95 with the final fw?

There is no continuous auto-focus in video mode. The shutter button works exactly the same, you can focus by pressing it 1/2 way down, and then when you fully depress it starts recording with that focus in place for the whole of the recording.
Havn't done much in the way of video comparision between by N95 and the sammy so can't comment on relative quality.
Only thing I miss from the N95 is that there is no voice command on the phone at all.

@Tangey Thanks for bothering to answer Nice to hear, at least one can set the videorec focus, even if it is only at the begin of the shooting. I don't think my N95 8gig can do that at all I saw more pictures taken with the INNOV8 and I must admit, its much better then my N95 Actually is just as good as many dedicated cameras out there, especially if resized for 6x4 hard prints. Is so far ahead of the competition, only a nerd/fanboy will even consider thinking to argue otherwise

that's meaningless, I could say the same thing about my K800. The question is how it prints at A4 or larger.

Sure thing, it's no faster or slower than any other camphone IMO, which bearing in mind the file sizes your dealing with is a big plus.
Build quality, slide action are astonishingly good, only downside IMO is, it has a very average screen.

@Max, as much as I respect you and love Brisbane , I am prety sure you are fighting a loosing battle in trying to defent the K800, or any other phone for that matter, including the N95 (considered the best camera phone, before INNOV8 come out). The INNOV8 camera has the biggest optics and chip! The pictures are absolutely STUNNING. Color rendition is perfect. Even better then the N95 which is already leaps and bounds better then the SE color rendition . As much as I like my trustet N95 8gig, I have to 'concede' defeat. I am aware that the N95 comunity will 'skin' me alive for saying this, but a fact is a fact and no one, including you can change it
