hi people! how does browing on tytn2 feel? does the 128mb make a difference between 64mb?
i mainly use my tytn for browing but most of the times, i feel that i'm pushing my ram too much that it laggs big time!
please, just an honest opinion, is it as smooth as in p1i whilst browsing?

Hi!
has anyone used the GPS camera successfully?
Mine keeps searching for satellites, even if I launch Tom Tom and Google Maps first!

Hi masseur,
-How to to activate the gps photo on the TytnII (like the Artemis): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\Camera\
in the folder called P9 change the value "enabled" from 0 to 1.
Now if you launch the camera you must find a new menu called "gps photo".
The new menu appears in camera --> Capture mode > Gps photo (last option)
In the EXIF you can find the GPS co-ordinates of where the photo was taken,
The using Google Maps, see the satelllite view too!

thanks for the info.
no, all I get is "initializing gps" constantly even though, as you say, tomtom has a fix
perhaps there is more to it than just that registry change?

Hi!
I found it here as you would guess !
It is mentioned elsewhere too on that site.
I can't see much else about it but I will search again tomorrow !

yeah I was googling and found it there too.
no solution to when its not working though
the only diff I found is that my setting in the p9 folder was "enable" not "enabled" as you mentioned as mentioned on xda-developers, but I expect that was just a typo over there
oh well...

hi masseur, how does browsing the net on TYTNII feel compared to the TYTN I ? does the 128MB RAM play a major different in multitasking?
i mainly use opera 8.6 for browsing, but there are times when it got lagg whilst having the Windows Live messenger running in background
is browing very smooth or at least smoother in TYTN II?

I always thought browsing on the orginal TyTN as fairly smooth and it doesn't seem to be any different really on the TyTN II
The only time I really see an issue is on the train moving between HSDPA/3G and GPRS areas

Lads, does anyone here use Resco Media Suite? Or Resco Explorer 2007?
If so, would they recommend this? And also point me in the direction of where I can get it the cheapest.
Thanks |

I've been using Resco file explorer for a few years and updated to 2007 version when I got the TyTN II.
Its a very useful bit of kit and comes with a good registry editor too. you only have to look at its features to see how much you get in this software, so its well worth the US$29.95 they're asking

so masseur, u reckon that when browsing the net, u hardly notice the difference between tytn 1 and tytn 2? cos honestly i'm getting desperate to get the tytn 2 since it got delayed for a couple of month here
what i wanted to try is its 128mb since i expect to be very much different as in p1 n p990, where the extra RAMs is well justified
otherwise i could hold on to my tytn1, please some enlightmen

in reality, I install most things onto the memory card as I tend to always have the largest available and so don't swap cards at all. so the extra memory only really makes a difference if I have alot of stuff running at the same time.

@Ofiaich, most things can be installed to card but its worth checking install instructions of each app for any exceptions
No too sure about performance implications. I read a few times that non volatile memory is usually slower than volatile but then I suppose you have to factor in the transfer rates of the micro SD. not sure.
@miguel82, don't think you can do it with built in file manager. I use Resco File Explorer which has a multi file selection mode. prob the same deal for SMS I guess

masseur maybe this is a stupid question but how can i select multiple items on the file explorer (or in sms) ? I only can select them if they are next to each other... for exemple if want to delect a lot of sms that i dont want do i have to do it one by one or can i mark multiple items and them delect? |
