Updated and started getting error messages for programmes that never gave me trouble, for example opening a video file converted with M3. Works the second time, not first every time.
Also, on opening a large sized webpage on Opera for e.g. CNN, it says "not enough memory" and you have to use SM to close off apps for it to work. That didnt happen before. Anyone else experience this?
Yes, space bar bug there too. I personally don't use the space bar to open phone mode even though I use phone in f/o mode ( I click the icon) so, yes it sucks, but not huge loss to me.
I would have liked a shortcut to silent mode but no luck there. I cannot for the life of me see why  doesn't see its absence as a problem?? Every single candy bar phone has this. So if you use phone in f/o as a candy bar, won't you need a shortcut instead if going through three layers of menu?
Maybe im imaging it but memory leak seems worse to me than before. im down to 2.5 MB in no time. And start up is only 13.5 for me. (I'm using WG2, I wonder if that makes a difference?)
All third party Applications e.g. Advanced Call manager, Advanced English Dictionary, Agile Messenger, Virtual radio etc are working fine.
Autofocus is quicker but not 100%. Better in low light than before for sure. Images do look cleaner and better colour. Hmm.
I cannot agree with other posts that WiFI is exceptionally better, The singal appears stronger and conects where it ddint before BUT then doesnt load pages from that "bad" location. Its very odd. Still works best nearer the AP.
LED message indicator light still sticking at times.
I'll be honest, If you havent upgraded to R6, I cannot see the great rush to. There seem to be no huge benefits that stand out EXCEPT that yes, the alarm bug has been fixed. But I think memory leak worse sooo....i dont know.

I used the PC term, basically you copy text from one application to memory and later from memory to the other application. I confirm that there is a limit to the length of text you can copy, I tried about 20 KB worth of text and it worked but the whole text is much larger and I can't copy/paste the whole thing. I don't know what the limit is, have to test it.

Wow! Wish mine could do the same. Apparently I am not the only one experiencing autofocus issues. This is why I wanted to revert back to the old firmware. |

i got to agree with u mate,memory leak is more with this firmware...2 days of using and am not very happy about this firmware after we got all the hype around R6.
After a reboot,i get 14 mb memory...previously,it used to be 15mb.After few hours,the memory goes down to 5-6MB.Though opera works fine,there are some areas where higher memory is needed...for that when i use SM to close all applications,i get a max of 8-9mb...not enough.
This update fixes camera autofocus,fixed alarm bug(so happy now my phone can work as an alarm),opera is faster and organized.On the memory leak,its bad.

i updated my phone to r6 last night and everything went fine..except one thing. i forgot to uninstall the applications in my memory stick first before resetting the phone for the update. so now, i have this issue that those applications keeps poping up and asked me to install it to end up having it corrupted..okay fine.. installed it using the application installer and on the same location. it worked..now..i want to remove those applications in my memory stick entirely..i uninstalled.. but i have those pop ups back again..can someone refresh me how to deal with this please?
no matter how wicked it is, i wont use a phone unless it's a sony ericsson!

While I'm disapointed that this firmware hasnt given us any more free RAM, doesnt appear to have fixed the memory leak or low sound volume problems (got some better headphones on order to fix that though) I've just noticed that the camera now works with the flip closed. I swear my phone used to tell me to 'open the flip to continue' when openign the camera cover to open the camera program before the firmware update. |

first time when i update i got 15 mb of ram then i format c drive then master reset and reflash my p990 and get 16.4 mb of ram  |

OH MAN it was tellin' you to open CAMERA flip to make o photo.
Camera was always workin' with flip/keyboard closed!

Anyone been able to try is active sync allows transfering notes and tasks via the PC suit? This was disabled in the last firmware (for some bizzare reason!) |

This is not the fault of firmware, but of the latest version of Exchange ActiveSync. Install version 2.010. |
