give me a min.
1/ Click the Start button
2/ From the Start Menu click Run
3/ In the Run dialog box type: regedit
4/ The registry editor will now open
5/ Now navigate to the following registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
6/ In the Right Hand Pane of the registry window scroll down the list until you come to PaintDesktopVersion
7/ Double click on the PaintDesktopVersion option
8/ The Edit DWORD Value dialog box appears
9/ In the Value Data box type 0 (zero) and click OK
10/ Finally close the registry editor
11/ The next time you boot up your pc the build number should have disappeared

Hi guys, thanks for the help removing the build number the other day, just have a quick q?
Would I be able to set up my laptop as a wireless broadcaster?
ie, I have an internet connection to my laptop, would there be any way to use my laptops build in 802.11g card to broadcast that internet connection to my Wireless devices? (PDA, PSP, Other Laptop etc)?
Thanks alot,
Charlie -

It's certainly possible but unless XP service pack 2 has (yet more!) hidden goodies, I think you need third party software.
Here's one we've used for a customer in the past:
http://www.vicomsoft.com/products.html
But it might work out cheaper and a hell of a lot easier to buy a wireless router, particularly if you want to connect your PSP as well.
Has anybody done a straight wireless p2p network without a router or extra software? If so, please let us know how!

Are there any Windows PCs on sale in the UK that are about the same size as a Mac Mini?
My boss wants to get just a cheap, basic PC that we can test web-sites and stuff on, but wants it to be small!!
I've seen a complete rip-off of the Mac mini available in Korea, but not in the UK...
Any links would be appreciated! Cheers!

Hello all, I have an e-mail problem.
My wife sent an e-mail to her parents but spelt the address wrong and it caused an error. The server rejected it as an invalid address, error code 550 - Invalid Recipient, but now it's permanently attached itself to our user accounts and an error message shows up every time I open Outlook Express.
I've tried erasing the message from the 'Sent Items' and also from 'Deleted Items' but to no avail.
Can anyone help me?

Who is your ISP, or who do you use for email? If they provide webmail, you could try logging onto that to see if the message is stuck in the server-side outbox and if so, deleting it from there.

My ISP is Xtra.co.nz from Telecom New Zealand.
What do you mean by Webmail?
I have the morning off work tomorrow, if the problem rests with the server, I can give Xtra a call in the morning. Too tired to do so right now, it's 20 past midnight here.

lol see you in the morning
What I meant was, many ISPs provide a web site on which you can send and recieve your email as well as using outlook / outlook express etc.
Sometimes, messages get stuck on the server and they don't appear in outlook, but they do appear on your webmail page.

Solved.
Rang Xtra and they said that it is probably still in the Outbox, causing problems from there. Sure enough...
