@HOBBS: Here's the deal, if been in the Philippines for almost four months...the experience has been mixed. On on hand I've been missing home, especialy because I've never been away from SA for such an extended period- two weeks at most when I've been travelling. So acclimitising to the weather and culture has been a bit hard due in most part to the language barrier. I found claims that the Philippines as an English-speaking country unfounded as most people speak Tagalog with most people having a basic grasp of English which is fine when you're trying to give directions to taxi drivers but annoying when you're in a shop giving specific instructions to shop assistants.

One thing that is not suprising is that copyright means absolutely jack in most of South East Asia...you can go to any market, shopping mall and buy any pirated software/movie. I kinda like the illegality, the fact that that the whole of Asia gives Uncle SAM a collective "up yours". My favourite place for gadgetry is still the IT Mall in Bangkok which sells just about anything electronic on five floors of shop space- Nirvana for the techie nerd with deep pockets.

I'm still with my girlfriend, so no Filipinos ladies for me...I'm a meat and bones kinda man and the ladies here are justy too skinny for me to even contemplate cheating on my girl.

I'm based in Manila but work usually takes me to all parts of the country, nexgt week for instance I'll be on an island in the south of the country and at the start of next year I'll be living in Mindanao.

Speaking of Facebook, Brix mentioned earlier he'd seen the craziest shit, a pharmacy that also doubles up as a liquor store Now that's capitalism at work! I wonder if there's any chance of doing something similar here...

Thanks, boet. Ya it'll cost a fair bit to replace that Harley's rear tyre, methinks.. Also took some keewl macro P1i pics of the Moon again tonight, through the same telescope as last time. Crystal-clear night.

@ Kyle:
Live Freestyle MX tonight on Eurosport here; not sure if it's also on DSTV there..

Thanks for the lowdown GUCCI, you got to admit, Ronaldo is quite the player...
@ all
Have you guys watched Knight Rider 2008?
I was so excited when I got it from a friend today, but i'm a lil disappointed now that i've watched it. If my memory serves me well, the original was/is far better than this one. The acting totally sucks and so does the script, so it has a low budget feeling lol, i think chances are highly possible that they spent 90 percent of their budget on the mustang.

Knight Rider 2008? Who plays Knight Rider? Dont tell me its The Hof
Dam, it sux when remakes are not as good as the original, but i guess it makes you appretiate the original even more.

Gota love BBC Knowledge at this time. Top Gear plays for 2hours slightly old episode though, but the car they show is insane. Its the Golf GTI W12. It has parts from a Lambo Gallardo, and Audi R8 and a W12 engine from a Bentley Continental GT, all fitted in to the body of the current Golf GTI wow luckily it aint going on sale or the death rate in GTI's would out do the good ol Golf VR6.

@ gola:

Dig this recent W900 pic of yours:

@ Gucci:
Fortunately, The Hof has steered (pun?) well-clear of any major or long-term acting in the new Knight Rider series (he makes a cameo appearance though).
Also, I wonder how much Ford paid to have the designers of the new KITT select the 'Stang and not any other sports/super-car...?
I'll admit that the Mustang is the only Ford I'd ever consider buying, but to me it just doesn't look as avant-garde as what the original Trans-Am did all those years ago. The new one would possibly suit a Mad Max movie better, perhaps.
And Val Kilmer's voice as KITT...

P1i macro mode pics taken through the telescope. It remains a difficult shot; to get the Moon focussed in through both the P1i's cam and the telescope's aperture, and then to avoid over-exposure from the reflection is not easy. Oh, and every minute or two, re-aligning the viewfinder as the Moon moves steadily on its orbit.. These 3 came out OK, after close to a dozen attempts...:

Nah GUCCi, lol, it ain't The Hof, but Wanqs is right, he only makes a cameo at the end. The new knight rider is Justin Breuning, can't say i've seen him act in a lot of productions.
Whoa that's an insane GTI, I hardly get to watch tv here, did they mention how much they spent on it though?
Wanqs, thanks
it's a pic of a glass taken in total darkness. But i like your moon photos a lot more...Yip, the mastangs have always been a beastly machine for me. Mustangs, aston martins and that chevie camaro, aka bumble bee in transformers, are my type of cars
Roman, enjoy boet, post some pics if you get time.
