Can you press >*<<*<* (where < and > represents pressing the joystick left and right respectively) and go to Service Info > Software Info and tell us the firmware version and what is says for Camera SW version? Also make sure you don't have any effects enabled.

No effects was enabled when I took that picture. My camera SW is version 2.5. The firmware is R1ED001.

I must admit I've never seen a K800i produce a picture like that before. If every picture comes out like that regardless of how dark or bright it is around you then I would suggest the camera software is playing up.
Try doing a master reset, it can solve quite a lot of software problems (if they aren't too serious of course). Did you use SEUS to update the phone? |

If you have updated the firmware already then I would suggest that the camera itself is faulty. I would get it looked at.

Ah, okay. If you can, try again with the HBH-DS970. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Has anyone had the phone die on them after upgrading the firmware from the CB version to either ED, EG or EJ? |

I upgraded my K610i from AB to ED with no probs, waiting for a Nordic CDA release of EJ before i upgrade to that.

Wrong thread dude. This is for the k800i. Not the k610i.

Is the newest firmware having Megabass for music player?
At first, I thought it is the different between K series and W series. Thus K800i without Megabass. However, I found that K750i also having Megabass features, just wondering why the newer version of K series took off this feature.
If this neweest version still don't include megabass, hope the next firmware will includes it. |

It is more likely a marketing decision. Normally, Megabass is for the "W" branded phones while "Cybershot" is for the higher end camera phones. On a personal note, I think Megabass destroys the sound of the music.

Doesn't Megabass require hardware support?

not sure about the hardware support for megabass.
but if not, maybe the manual setting can produce similar quality to megabass..

As far as I can remember, MegaBass was introduced by Sony in their Walkman's while they still used to play C-60 compact cassettes. In those, there was no firmware at all. Instead, Megabass was a special electronic circuit design, mainly consisting of a large capacitor holding the extra charge needed to boost the bass beats and increase the voltage over the output transistors in the amplifier. Maybe, the K800 is built on a platform that actually has this circuit design onboard, to be used in a possible future -equivalent of the K800i, but that is disabled by the current K800 firmware. In that case, it might be possible to enable Megabass by firmware, like converting a K750 to a W800 by firmware change, but I don't think that this is a method that ever wil lbe supported by . They would probably want you to buy the model instead. |
