Also I heard at the Vodashop today that quite a number of people have returned their Apple I-Phones with cracked screens only to be told that warranty doesnt cover that kind of damage.Ouch! Thats 7 grand down the toilet.People are obviously pressing their screens to hard.Does anyone one know if the I-phone has callibration settings?

Pic taken with a friend's N82, we were at Broadacres going to watch the show La Vida when we spotted this baby. a Merc CLK 63AMG with DTM bodykit and seems like the owner also moddifide their license plates, when the xenon flash fired thats what happened to the plates of this specific car:
Notice the other car in the distance? you can read its plate clearly.
I thought doing this to your plates was illegal?

@ gola:
You're absolutely right; it's a ridiculous price for a 2mp non-smartphone. There's no ways it'll sell that much for that; if Carphone Warehouse get that phone in stock soon, it'll definitely be more reasonably priced.
For the same money one can buy a Nokia 6500 Slide and still have 30 (approx R450) change..
@ Gucci:
LOL, ya I have those kinda plates on my 2 bikes.
I paid nearly 30 each for them, but they do seem to work...
When I asked the number plate makers at the recent bike show here, they stipulated the exact 'grey areas' in the law here regarding them. Dunno where SA law stands with them...
In principle, it can't be legal, but if you or me (or a traffic cop) can't tell the difference between this plate and a normal one (without putting any camera flash to them), then how are they to know...

Whoa, those plates are just genius. I don't think they should be legal, I mean we might as well drive cars without number plates. So I guess this only works at night?

Any place where you need to use a flash (or flash from speed cameras here) and it'll do that to the pic.

So i was bored tonight, had nothing to do until for the 50th time today i saw this advert for a mobile tv show called "Seduction101" which is actualy sponsored by Sony Ericsson . Its a show about varsity life in SA and has some interesting characters. At 1st when i saw the ads i was like WTF? Then today due to boredem and curiosity i went to the site: http://www.seduction101.co.za/wap/episodes.aspx and downloaded the episodes. Man ive never laughd so much its so stupid but interesting and EVERY episode ends in a cliffhanger so you keep wanting to check what happens next. Ive now watched all the episodes and waiting for the new one which will be up on Monday. Every episode in high quality is around 6-9mb and up to 5mins long. Its made for downloading and watchng on your phone, watched all episodes on my K850 and they played just fine. Realy great show, it looks like its shot in a Jhb University, Wits i think. Anyway if you want to check it out here are the episodes: http://www.seduction101.co.za/wap/episodes.aspx

Cropped cellphone pic:
Wiring up the new components of the home theatre stuff wasn't exactly all fun n' games... Once it was all finished and set up properly, it certainly made all the effort worthwhile:
Anywayz, finally got all the hi-fi n' home theatre bits to 'speak' to one another properly, including pre-setting the receiver with the distances of the speakers in relation to the couches etc.
Wouldn't like to set all this up day-in and day-out though.

@ Gucci n' gola:
Dunno how a normal flash will work on the number plate in daylight; I'll take a pic or two in daylight tomorrow of one of the number plates, with the P1i's flash on.. In direct sunlight and using no flash, you can take a pic and it'll be visible as normal.

Gucci, technically the masking coating over the plates is a no-no, but i'd do the very same thing, believe me. When you really think about it, traffic officers don't always play fair either. Many of them here do the Biblical thing as mentioned in the Old Testament, i.e. the evil spirit was concealed behind a bush... despite the regulations being clear about their levels of visibility, they conveniently hide behind the excuse of needing to be in the shade, etc. The same applies to the manner in which some drive. I've driven at the posted speed limit and had these guys zoom past as if i was looking for parking, lol

Anyone fancy a pink (LOL) S60 smartphone?
Tesco's here are clearing out the last Nokia 6120's in pink, at only 53.31 (approx R800):
