Hello,
I upgraded to this phone this afternoon after selling the pathetic k850i. I have to say, I prefer it already, especially the OS. Anyway, I was wondering what the latest available firmware is for the phone. I'm a Mac user with no access to a PC at home, so it's inconvenient for me to find out myself.

Thanks very much Maratonmannen. Seems my phone came with the latest firmware already installed.
My other question now, is how can I disabled the 'always on' GPRS so it only connects when I need to use it. Similar to how it could be disabled on my old k850i by choosing "GSM Only" from the data menu??

Main menu -> Tools -> Control Panel -> Connections -> Internet accounts -> More -> Options. Under Preferred mode choose CS only.

This has to be one of the deepest located settings I've ever come across in a phone. It's quite amusing in an odd sense.
Have any of you guys found a setting that goes even deeper than that? |

Thanks very much =) No wonder I couldn't find it..hidden away in the depths of the phone.

Since the internal picture- viewer can't zoom, so the "use picture" is useless: If you uncheck the preferences->fit to screen, the image is usually rendered in the browser in full size (and follows the zoom, as well). So for example, you could.. tap and hold on the image, open in new window, and uncheck "fit to screen"..

wierd. This is not how i disabled it. I went to:
Menu>tools>control panel>connections>mobile networks>more>GSM/3G networks>GSM only
this disables gprs (i.e. the blue triangle when pressed says gprs detached), and when i try go to the internet it automaticalyl connects. what's the difference in the two methods?

Hi.
The thread has become too long now to do a search. I just really need help for my wife's w960 that we just bought last night.
We want to get rid of the 3 triangles that appears on the screen's left, right and bottom areas when typing while maintaining the ability of the hard numberpad to type texts.
There are only 2 options to choose, and choosing the otherone wont allow the keys to type letters but numbers only.

Hello all,
I have a question concerning music on the W960i.
When going to: --Menu>Tools>File Manager>Second tab>Music-- I see all my music albums including a folder named Various which contains a mix of all kinds of songs.
When pressing the Walkman button and goto Albums, all my music albums are listed but the folder various is gone and each seperate number from this folder is shown as if it's an album.
Is there anyone who knows how to have the Various folder shown as an album as wel?
Thanks!

Got it. Create a folder on your comp named, e.g. Various. Put some music files in it> select all music files> right click> properties > first tab (general), uncheck read only> the summary tab> advanced mode> click on album title> fill out folder name (in this case Various)> supply and ok> copy the folder to your music folder on your phone> update music> Voila |
