Hello to all, I hope the year has treated you well.

I find myself once again available for upgrade and at a crossroads of what to do.

Since April all the (quality) phones available for free quickly disappeared. Looking at the phones available (on the weekender) i see few upgrades and more.. side grades(?). My w810 is showing it's age, but I refuse to upgrade to a phone just because it has 1 extra megapixel on the camera.

Which leaves me to either pay in for a better phone, or consider moving to a smart phone and consider that my upgrade reasoning.

That would probably mean I'll get the N73 (YES! A nokia phone for the SE fan! And a phone which is showing its age and isn't the most ergonomical phone around).

The iphone became available today on it's own contract, which would effectively triple my current monthly contract subscription costs. But is it worth it for a touch screen, lousy camera and no video calling? I would rather have the Samsung Omnia (and I don't particluarly like samsung), but I'm pretty sure I'll be paying in heftily for that too.

So my fellow members, can anyone recommend anything reasonable??

My wife works for MTN and i think they got the Sony C902 for R139/month on a MTN anytime 100 contract...

I dont think I fancy those contract packages very much Rhino.I wouldnt mind a +-R200/month contract deal with a R3000 pay-in.

They do have financing packages hobbs. R559 p/m for the 8 gig iphone (R599 for the 16gig), 120 anytime minutes, 100 sms' and 250mb of data.

That isn't "too" bad, all things considered.

Thats not bad at all especialy for such a phone with a powerhungry OS my N81 needs to be charged everyday, but then again im constantly on the net with it lol.USB charging is something NOKIA should have put in long ago in their Nseries.
My word! The iPhone is one mother of a rip-off! 250mb Data Limit? You pay-in atleast R1800 for the 8GB thats madness. I wonder how its going to do.

The W760 looks like a nice phone, i wouldnt mind if Voda replaced my K850 with a W760 if they cant fix it. 3.2mp camera, GPS, dual loudspeakers, shake control and a nice 2.2inch screen, and its free on a Weekender not a bad deal in my opinion, otherwise C902 is not so bad, wouldn't you rather wait for the W902 though? Its a 5MP Walkman with Autofocus and all those other bells and whistles.

Hi everyone!

I'm reporting back after 2 or 3 months. I got the G900 today after many fights and an array nasty exchanges of words.

Seems that all I had to do was wait (as I got no where with the Glen Service Centre). Then MTN retentions department contacted me, and now I've got it! YAY!

Now all I have to do is read the manual I suppose.

Congrats on the new phone, cuz, about time they sorted out their hassles too! Congrats on the engagement too, about time YOU two started measuring your ankles for the correct shackle sizes

So my buddy popped around yesterday to drop off a printer i'd bought from his I.T. company, and whilst here i had a quick look at his new E71. What's a beautiful handset! Beautifully constructed, fast processor, sufficient memory and of course, a huge screen simply begging to be used for reading ebooks

I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious.

OMG! Im shocked at the K850 BROD Solutions thread, people having BRODs over 2 times after fixing it, some saying that most service centers cant fix it etc. . . . I knew the phone had this problem but i thought the R1F FW its all fine, this looked a lot like the K800 situation which was then fixed with its latest FW and thought the K850 would be the same, seems not, anyway Vodacare at Vodaworld said they'll see what they can do, and sms me when they're done. im wondering what the hell could they possibly replace it with besides another K850, C902? The K850 is still more expensive than a C902.

Ye, i see quite a few sad users who have phones with built-in 8GB and no card slot. Personaly id love 16GB but i think 8GB would be enough, but thats me.
