If you've not downloaded .55 firmware - do it. I'm finding the phone to be quicker, the bugs with the album are gone and the radio seems to work perfectly. The battery life is still excellent. I think the software was Slovenian and got it from XDA for my UK generic.
Not for Poland yet.

I still don't understand the pre-installed screen guard. What is it there for?
As the name suggest it is there only to prevent glass fragments from spreading around in the event you drop the phone and the screen shatters.
That is exactly what i wanted to know...so there goes my secondary screen guard

I know of a few people who have bought these and the screens have become totally unresponsive and stopped working especially the white ones, does the white one have known issues or even the black one? are these Xperia S models prone to developing faults? |

I Have a white one and no screen problems.
Only my battery seems to go very quick... a little desapointed by this mybe i use too much the phone... i don't know, Its my first Android Smartphone, before i have a Satio and the 1000mAh was very good but only 3.5" screen and 1/100 of the app. I only use Satio for Facebook and news reading, with XS its addictive to surf on web and apps...

Just read that Xperia S only go to get JB update on April 2013 plus... i just bought a Xperia S (3 weeks)
...last Sony Smartphone for me!
I Think Xperia line was different for Sony and they pay more attention to flagship models...
...i bought a SE Satio in Nov 2009... top of the line for SE... saw maybe 2 updates all life time... they release the phone and forget they have made it and sell it and some people bought it. A disappointing...
In Portugal some say... The first fall everyone falls... the second only fall the donkey's ones... the third... only falls the ones that want to fall!
No more Sony for me! After SE k750i, SE w880i, SE Satio, SE Elm... |

I have no idea why Xperia S gets the upgrade so late
but it's ridiculous.

Brief sneak peek at Xperia S Jelly Bean firmware
The Sony Xperia S (LT26i) is not due to receive the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware update until April at the earliest, but that hasn’t stopped a few screenshots leaking out courtesy of DooMLoRD from xda-developers. It looks like that the new build number will begin with 6.2.X.X.XX and a new 3.4 kernel will be used, compared to the current 3.08 kernel.
Xperia S owners will get a number of features seen on newer handsets such as Power management, Find My Xperia and Screen mirroring. The new lock screen will also be part of the update. Click through to see some photos (if you’re wondering about the text rendering in the images, DooMLoRD says there was an issue whilst testing).
