Is this for definite then? Just curious as somebody over @ My-Symbian has posted that O2 have given them a date of 14th August which is obviously somewhat different to these dates. |

i had posted some time ago about o2's roadmap release date for the p990, and it was always 10th-17th july |

Yes, but remember, this as definite as we know at the moment. The roadmap did originally show week 1 or 2 of June but, has now been changed to w/c 10th or 17th July. Fingers crossed, there's no further changes to release dates...

Vodafone have just advised me I am entitled to upgrade for free.
I explained that I am waiting for the P990 and asked when I can expect to recive one. At this point the nice lady went a bit quiet " we have had a lot of interest in this phone" great say I "when can I have one" long silence "we are not expecing any further "NEWS" on this phone until the end of August so I am not holding my breath
I have owned the ... T68i T610, P800, P900, P910, P990, W950, P1, W960 But SE have now totally lost the plot. |

Man am I glad you live in SA, texting whilst driving? you should be shot
BTW phones are set to get a lot bigger the network providers need to sell media rich content from now on there is very little money in voice trafic.

This is the french factory were M600/P990 are will be manufactured...they say P990 is gonna be produced from the start of July

I believe that says that from July, Sony Alsace have the world wide exclusive rights to produce the P990, but that doesn't preclude the possibility that it can be manufactured elsewhere prior to July

but they also have M600 since June, and its already out, so i figure P990 should be out from start to mid July

as always, we'll just have to wait and see.
I personally feel its now unlikely to see the P990 this month anyway but if that site starts producing them from July then its going to be mid-late July at the very earliest before they hit the shops, taking into account QA, packaging, shipping etc etc

Masseur, they supposely also start producing M600 in June, and it didn´t take long to see some units in the stores
Main SE store here in Portugal just told me P990 will be out here from mid to late July...

Our local Vodafone shop in the UK was told 3 days ago by SonyEriccson that the P990i is not now expected for release in the UK by Vodafone until August

Well at least we know now that we wont have to wait till September...or even longer as some of the rumours suggested. If SE make a few in late June they can say that they did release the P990 in Q2!
