Has the Xperia S really benefitted from this whole AOSP thing? Has there at the very least actually been a fully functional 4.1 ROM released?

king-james

Why would there be on-screen buttons??? The Xperia S already has physical capacitive touch Menu, Home and Back buttons, adding on-screen buttons would make absolutely no sense at all and would just reduce screen real estate.

It works much better without Sony's custom crap.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

@Tsepz_GP

They need to turn off the capacitive touch buttons and add the on-screen-buttons!
All XS Users know why... "on-screen-buttons" is the future.

I do agree, but still, we have the capacitative ones. As said, it would be a waste of real screen space.

I still don't understand the pre-installed screen guard.What is it there for?Its says shatter proof?does it mean with that guard on the screen it is less prone to damage from falls or does it mean that once the screen cracks it doesn't shatter off?

i don't want to continue having a second guard over it but once the pre installed one attracts scratches,i will obviously have to replace it with the normal one's avail. in the market...
So my question again,will the screen perform the same in falls without the pre installed guard or with the usual one's in the market.

If you've not downloaded .55 firmware - do it. I'm finding the phone to be quicker, the bugs with the album are gone and the radio seems to work perfectly. The battery life is still excellent. I think the software was Slovenian and got it from XDA for my UK generic.

As the name suggest it is there only to prevent glass fragments from spreading around in the event you drop the phone and the screen shatters.

Once you remove the shatter proof sheet, you don't necessarily need another screen protector if you only want to protect against scratches since the glass in under is already scratch resistant.
