As has been stated before, and confirmed by SE, the f/w on SEUS and Wotan are the same. However, Wotan has the ability to alter some of the phones functionality. It is not the f/w. If there is new operation functionality, it is most likely a product of something Wotan has done to the phone rather than a software implementation.

Why didn't you say that in the first place? That's exactly what we wanted to know and were trying to get confirmation for.
Altho, even if it's not _really_ a modified firmware, the line is pretty thin, afterall it's included in the upgrade procedure.
I wonder if there's more adjustements like that?
I stand informed, thank you for that. I still hope, you could "cut the unnecessary crap" and reply when you indeed give something to the discussion, rather than just let everybody know how wrong they are.

Noted that the delay is only on SEUS updated phones in the first post.
@jungleandy4 & ~DC:UK~
I am not entirely sure what firmware I would put the 'black line' bug down for. It seems JA4 has R1EG001, but I am not sure if this appears in earlier firmwares - what firmware did you have previously? What do you have Dave?

I must admit I never noticed it in the previous firmware but I mostlt play videos in the video player in landscape where the black line does not manifest itself.
As for the internet button, I would bet that the delay is set in the customize.xml file. That is really the only thing I imagine Wotan would alter in a firmware package. Of course without actually seeing the K800's version of that file we won't know! |

@~DC:UK~,
Aremeboy posted a few days ago that under R1EDxxx that the Internet button was different. You obviously did not read this, but posted about it. Who's the fool now? The supposed changes are not f/w related but are a function of the Wotan server application. Can you unlock or debrand with SEUS. If you are not sure how the technology works, I will be more than happy to explain it to you.
Mind the gap and move along please.

@~DC:UK~,
Have you considered asking the Wotan guys if they made any special modifications? Survey says: nope. You just speculate and speculate, without gettng the facts. Do you think this is helpful? Maybe, just maybe I decided to do something exotic and new, and ask them about the "Internet" delay and see what they have to say about it. This is what a logical person would do.

Which firmware revision are you using?

You seem to be very antagonistic towards other posters of late. Your technical input is appreciated, but I would also appreciate it if you would be more respectful to other users in this thread. |

@mwarner, and others
Please forgive and excuse the sometimes "over the top" responses. I will admit that I sometimes get annoyed with repetative or simply incorrect answers. I will try to refrain from letting my attitude shine through, but please people read the thread. Mike has done a great job putting the info out where we can find it, and to create posts where the info has already been posted sort of does a disservice to Mike.

I do not think that there has been any releases for the UK on certain operators. It was mentioned here in the thread but as I am not in the UK I can not provide up to date details. Try going to your SE SVC CTR and see if they can force update it.

The black line that ~DC:UK~ is talking about is there in R1ED001. To confirm this do like this, go in to File manager --> Videos and ViewFly Away. When you press that button there will be black lines when the video image is brought up. When you then play the video there is no problem at all but when the video is finished the video window is repositioned a bit up on the screen and then there will be black lines. The black lines is not in the video playback but it has to do with repositioning of the video image before and after playback. This is not present in Video player since there is no repositioning of the video image there. |

"Very occasional file corruption (loss of access to the Games and Application folders)"
This bug is still present with the new firmware. My phone restarted during usb file transfer mode and now i cannot access application or the games folder. It says Operation Failed.

Well, everyone,I'm 'aremaboy' not 'aremeboy'...(laughter). Take it easy guys, we should correct one another in case mistakes are made. That's why I mostly say: correct me if I'm wrong ---NOT humiliate, embarrass, mock, or even kill me if I'm wrong..so be positive to other members..that would be more appreciated.. |

This repositioning has always occurred - I have just tested it on my R1CB phone. However, I am not sure you could classify that as 'a think black line at the end of the video' - the end of playback is pretty smooth in my opinion, despite the repositioning.
Could anyone with a later firmware comment on this? I don't really want to add this as a bug in the first post if it simply video repositioning. |
