oli - i really hope so! would like to have a look at it before i get one.
yea g - yeah for sure. Theres already pics of the C905 on telecoms new network site as examples of their new range so it must be planned to be launched soon after?
Telecom really make me laugh though when they say "T-Day" and "the mobile phone REVOLUTION begins". Where have they been for the last 3 or so years??!! Vodafone are probably cracking up laughing in their offices and posting it round to their collegues as a comic relief email.

Last 3 years?
It goes way back further than that, past the introduction of CDMA to about 2000 when txting started to take off on Vodafone and everyone started leaving Telecom in droves.
Telecom have been so out-of-touch for so long, I doubt they actually know to get back on track. I'm seriously worried that they are going to go WiMax and become irrelevant again. The fact that they've shut TelstaClear out of their new network shows that they still haven't got any clue what they're doing. |

Wow all this WCDMA GSM 3G UMTS HSDPA WiMAX stuff is confusing me. So WCDMA is the same as GSM right? And is Wimax different to edge and gsm etc?

I'm not entirely sure of the terms but I think WiMax is nothing to do with GSM/Edge, etc. WiMax is like the competitor to LTE. |

VodafoneNZ launched 3G (UMTS) with the V600 and V800.
Bellsouth phones could txt because they used a digital network unlike the 025 Telecom analogue network. Txting took off after Vodafone expanded the network and Telecom were caught with obselete technology. They initially tried to compete by using a 15s voicemail message but it sucked, everyone including me switched to Vodafone and Telecom had to upgrade to CDMA. Too late though because many of us former Telecom users never went back... |

Ah the memories of sending my first text messages from a phillips twist (single line scrolling text haha!)......
It was 1999 when Prepay first arrived
And seriously who would ask Elemeno P about sound quality? Does that not strike you guys as some kind of cruel irony?

Hahaha that's good point! Personally I can't stand Elemeno P or 99% of NZ music.

Awesome, I'll put those in, thanks. I was just waiting on confirmation on which ones you had. I knew you had an X1 but wasn't sure if you were still using it.

Wel so far in 2009, I have noticed a lot of new mobile phone masts going up all round the place. By the looks of things, NZ comms is putting them any old place, and telecom is putting their new ones next to their old CDMA ones

I haven't noticed any down here in Chch to be honest...
@Soane28: A while ago I said that I thought I saw the Renoir being advertised by Telecom. Sorry to disappoint you but I saw the same ad again tonight and had a closer look. It was a Samsung Omnia, not an LG. Sorry! |

Oh dam! Oh well, ive decided that if i dont like the LG i will sell up and get the C905. Ive had a really close look at every review i can get my hands on and ive watched hundreds of youtube videos of it so i think im making the right decision (fingers crossed).
Cant say ive seen any myself either! |
